Brett Anderson needs to look at it this way. Nobody cares about the stupid points unless you have a father/son or academy player.

Brisbane and GWS do. They have 2 each inside the first round/early 2nd round.

It's up to us to see if we can upgrade pick 29 with either of them.

If you seriously think we would have drafted Kennedy at 4 over Wines, Stringer or Macrae then you're either an idiot or deliberately talking [censored] to try and placate the masses.

Emma Quayle tweeted it herself. You would think she knows more than you. Again, jog on.

Well worked out Sherlock. That's exactly what I said.

Chill out mate. I wasn't having a go at you. That said you might want to quote Emma Quayle as your source next time instead of making out you had some inside info going back to that time.

I've never claimed to have inside info for anything, ever. I could have quoted her, true, but I wasn't making out as if I had any sort of inside info about the club.

Kennedy for Toumpass I can come to terms with easily.

But Howe for 29+50 = ~20 is just no! Pick 50 is worth squat, it's as good as 60 or 70 in this year's very shallow draft .

Howe will flourish with the scum in his new role, understandably the club tried to retain him and didn't want to pay his asking price.

If either of those newly acquired picks are used to retain Bugg then iI'll be at ease but for now I'm seething.

What really hurts is that once again we have [censored] up a top 10 pick.

They should just stop giving them to us. Or better still we should stop being crap at football so we stop getting them.

Oh and also that spud Henderson is apparently worth more than Howe. I die.

Hogan, Brayshaw, Salem, Tyson and Viney (in reality) are all going OK

This was before Jason Taylor, things are already better.

I just want to re-state what I posted in the final round this year:

Posted by Curry & Beer on 03 September 2015 - 11:03 PM in The Taylor Made Trade and Draft Board

Sorry, just to make an addendum to an earlier post now that the teams have been named:

The following are injured, or added to last week's 22

Dawes, Frost, Kent, Lumumba, Pedersen, Petracca, Trengove, Tyson, Vandenberg PLUS White, Harmes, Brayshaw, Kennedy-Harris

That makes a total of 35 'in the mix' at the moment

This means everyone at Casey this week are 'ranked' 36th best at the club, meaning they are the bottom 9 players on the list including rookies. This is where Toumpas is currently at. The others in this unfortunate group are King, Fitzpatrick, Riley, Terlich, Bail, McKenzie, Hunt and Jamar.

I'm neither for or against JT at this stage but can anyone argue with this logic?

Now look at those bottom 9 players and think about who has been moved on. We quite clearly showed how highly we rated Toumpas this year. It is not surprising he would try his hand elsewhere, nor is it surprising that Port would only offer pick 50 for a player we so obviously do not value.

More so that we didn't get proper currency for him. Toumpas showed progresion this year, he had a couple of very good performances, he wasn't a total failure like Lucas Cook who couldn't get anywhere near the field. He wasn't a pushover who was worth trading for scraps 3 years in. We either should've waited for a better trade or persisted with him for another year or two

Like we did with Morton or Strauss or Blease? Or like Carlton did with Kane Lucas? Or like how Gysberts kicked on at North?

He's shown something, but if we rated Kennedy higher then we make this trade.

I'm definitely in the "don't know what the fuss is about" camp.

When it comes to the trade table, the emotional investment we've all made in Toumpas and Howe has zero currency.

The life of the lowly football supporter: you bleed for your club and players, even when in reality, they just aren't as good as what you keep believing they are.

Who's getting emotional? As they say something is only worth what someone is willing to pay, North were willing to pay #15 and we took #29!

That's a massive discrepancy! Would have accepted an early 2nd rounder , #29, and Kennedy for Howe and Toumpas, anything less is a fail!

Those others either completely dropped off or were riddled with injuries. Toumpas was healthier, fitter and had his best season with us.

Or we could've just said we're keeping Toumpas and directly dealt with the Pies.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full
