Majak Daw

Recommended Posts

Has one of the worst tanks in the AFL. Good for half a quarter and then goes missing.

Thankfully our club aren't stupid enough to even consider it.

Thats an old line of thought, his ability to run out games has improved.

Thankfully our club would be across the basics....strengths and weaknesses of each player.

No, it hasn't. He runs out of gas quicker than any car you could drive. His tank is horrible.

The biggest hole i believe we have is a ruckman/forward that can really choo out Gawn and watching Daw as the sole ruckman he is actually playing very well and with him being our of contract i would give him a 2 year offer.

Takes a good contested mark and can use his leap to advantage. Right now he'd be very handy for us because now id start Gawn up Forward and Maj in the ruck. Both have serious potential to push forward and kick your 2-3 goals when resting down there.

Didn't realize how much of a bigger hole we have having no back up for Gawn. Seen things from Daw to suggest he could give that chop out for Gawn.

Its a yes from me.

Some posters will continue to pick apart his game whilst pushing the case of some of our players who have been gifted games for years but currently find themselves in and out of the team for different reasons.

Any other clubs chasing Majak would (most likely) want him as their #1 ruckman, and outbid us in any discussions with North. Further, if Majak wants to leave North, it will be for more opportunity and / or a fair bit more coin, and I doubt that we would want to commit to either for a player of his standing.  While he might be a handy addition to our list, he's certainly not worth getting in a bidding war over.

He'd probably be starting ruck at Essendon, Gold Coast, Richmond and maybe Footscray, Hawthorn and Collingwood.

Hampson was neither more nor less effective than him.

True, but then that doesn't look that good for Daw either as Hampson isn't anything special.  Hampson had 51 hitouts to Majak's 19, which doesn't look all that flash to me.

Daw has played 20 games. He's shown more than enough in 20 games to warrant the club to ask the question of North at years end. He can take a contested mark, has reasonable disposal, he tackles hard, his ruck work is improving and he can cover the ground. Imagine if he got some continuity, actually don't imagine that, things like that are only to be taken into consideration when discussing Melbourne players, how are Grimes/Garland and Dawes going....

Seeing him live today, I'd love him as a second ruck for depth. Have a soft spot for him. He's a bit raw but so was NicNat for his first 50 games. Very similar imo.

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
