WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN KENNEDY

His kicking skills were said to be elite in TAC cup. Just needs to adapt to the speed of AFL. He'll make it but in two seasons time.

Sweet, then we'll just pick him up for free as a delisted fa next year since he won't do much next year & can't get a game at the pies.

Exachery Evil1 thats being smart!

We appear to be the only interested party Why rush. Not much of an up grade medium in all facets of the Game.

Collingwood have come out and said they are not interested in the Port boys. If we want Kennedy we need to come at them with a good deal. They know Freeman and Seedsman are gone but havent lost hope in keeping Kennedy. Ball is in our court.

If Treloar and Aish join the Pies that will not exactly help Kennedy's chances of being a regular in the Pies midfield in 2016.

Doesn't excite me too much but welcome to the Dee's.

I think Collingwood already have similar players in Fasolo, Blair and Elliot as small forwards rotating through the midfield it was always going to be tough for Kennedy to get a regular gig.

To think that he would also fighting for a midfield spot (with most also resting forward) against Swan, Pendlebury, Sidebottom, Degoey, Adams and now adding Treloar and most likely Aish. Hopefully we can give him some game time to strut his stuff.

From reports he can rack up the disposals in the VFL hopefully he can translate this to the big league.

Alright, digging around, here's what I understand -

Kennedy is a very speedy and agile shortarse left-footer who is a goal kicking ball magnet midfielder/small forward at VFL level but got used a lot as the sub at AFL level and never got a run of form going.

Since Collingwood seem to be developing their young talent about as well as Demons 2012,, maybe we will win out of this.

Just another Riley or Michie big deal

no way Middy, he was way more talent than both of them put together.

If Brendan McCartney can harness his potential it will be a great pick up for us. The abolishing of the sub rule will be a blessing for Kennedy and kids like him

Howe and Toumpas for Kennedy, pick 29 and pick 50.

I have to say I believe this is another poor deal. Howe for Kennedy and 50 is unders and Toumpas for 29 is stupid. I'd prefer to keep him and see him struggle than trade for 29 at age 21 in a weak draft.

This 2 weeks has not filled me with much confidence in next year or going forward.

I'm happy to see Ben Kennedy at the club.

I watched him play SANFL the ABC on a number of occasions two years ago and he looked very accomplished and a player with a terrific future. Like Jimmy Toumpas, he's been disappointing at Collingwood but I think he's a player of the type we're after and one who could play for us for a long time. He'll be happy to be at the same club as Billy Stretch and ANB as well having come from Glenelg.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
