The final round of the season was once the day upon which the fate of many players was finally decided.

However, I suspect that these days such decisions are already made well in advance and the club's (and in some cases, the players) mind has already been made up. The fate of many has been signed, sealed and delivered.

The past month has seen a different mood among the players from the very top down and pronouncements from the coach about the players and their history and of the need for the club to go to "another level and acquiring talent from rival clubs" suggests that we are about to see another exodus of the not quite rights and I suspect that many are aware that today marks the end of their careers at the club, and most likely in the AFL.

Sadly, if the last month is anything to go by, we can't even expect them to give it their best shot which is, of course, the ultimate vindication of any decision to let a player go.

Jack Watts, a late inclusion, dominates the game and sets up five of Hogan's seven goals.

Now you're being silly.

While most would see this as a junk game and nothing to play for... It might give us an insight into the players mindset. Both young sides, you would think the more committed professional side will come out all guns blazing and take the 4 points. Another note I wouldnt mind jumping up to 13th ahead of the Saints!

If we lose big and Esendon have a big win we could lose a spot couldnt we?

Might be worth the effort for an improved draft opportunity maybe we should rest a few like North and Freo?

That's nice of him, hi Nev!.

There's nothing to say any player who gets dropped from a team list can't fight his way back if he's determined enough. The problem is that Nev is more the exception than the rule.

I think it's fair to say that we will be saying farewell to more than Daniel Cross today.

I was thinking of taking my dad to today's game for a fathers day present but decided to get him something that will make him happy instead.

This is the sort of game where Melbourne are typically insipid, and the usual crew are happy to accept another loss, citing the usual excuses.

I expect today will be more of the same.

That's a joke, right?

Actually, our draft position is potentially plummeting by the day with Kreuzer and Leuenberger likely to be picked up as free agents and the AFL giving Carlton and Brisbane compo picks ahead of us.

We've struggled against quick teams this year so I can't see how we can counter GWS today. If it were at the MCG I'd actually be confident but if G-Dubya play their cards right they could/should win by 8-10 goals today.

Either way, we're going to end up with a pick somewhere in the 4-7 range.

Decided I am going today, looking through the website can find no details of premium member information, do we get an area to watch or a room to gather, anybody know the details?

Hope this isn't too negative but I feel the MFC take our money and couldn't give a hoot once they've pocketed it.

i think premium members always get a reserved area at etihad (check with club)

also club announced that all memberships with reserved seating can sit on level 1 aisle 36-38 (on the wing)

Thanks DC would nice for them to provide that info on the website. Or maybe they did and I can't find it.

Actually if I had read my emails I wouldn't have needed to ask that question, seems apathy is spreading from players to members. See you all there?

Thanks god it's the last round of the season.

It will either be another insipid performance or the boys will show some fight.

Hopefully it's a fight but I'm not holding my breath.

To finish the season with with a win would be good but unfortunately I think the season will finish in a whimper.

But hey on the positive side we will have another full preseason of all the team telling how well they are going at training!!!

This season seems to have dragged on and on.

Glad to c the end of it.

Dees unexpectedly win and Hogan kicks 7 to seal the RS.

I think we're a big chance. No Mumford tips the scales in our favour.

Not in my experience dc. My Trident membership gets me in but I have been asked to pay extra to get a decent seat.

Anyhow all irrelevant today as I'm going to a family function and doubt I'll even watch.

However,he lads will probably have the TV on in the cinema at Romsey Manor.

I think I'll be surprised if I'm still there half way through the last.

I got the subscriber service when I moved back to Japan. Sadly, it was for our game against the Doggies when we got pantsed.
Usually, my inlaws come around on Sunday and we have lunch together. If I can manage to slip out a little early, I might catch a bit of it.
I'm feeling a bit like the others to be honest. Glad the year is over but in some ways, I'm a little sad. 6 odd months without footy lay ahead.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
