Hi All,

A while ago I posted about starting an MFC supporter group out of Wangaratta.

Unfortunately I went to the game yesterday. I agree with a lot of the opinions expressed about the players, the club and our supporters.

My first comment to my wife upon leaving the g was "I don't think that I want

to go to the GWS game. I am now realising that as a long suffering Melbourne supporter that I now feel numb as well as invisible.

I have followed Melbourne since I was born in 1970. I could have jumped ship at school in the late 70's and 80's if I was weak. At least back then we never had TV coverage of our poor team!

Like others here I have enlisted my children. My daughter was born in Nov 2000 and I was secure that her childhood would be filled with many Melbourne victories, perhaps we would see our first flag together!

We all know how the next 15 years have played out.

The thing is that the constant has always been us, the supporters.

Personally I would not begrudge anyone who says " I've had enough".

Admid all the hurt and anger, what sane person would torture themselves like we do? I laugh we I hear essendon, Carlton and others supporters [censored] and moan about how tough things are for them!! They have had about 5mins of pain compared to our journey.

Most of us are paid up members until the end of the GWS game. Others can choose to attend, our children don't get a choice, Its fathers day! What I m suggesting is that we should make this game about us, the supporters, the fathers the mothers and the kids. I want to see the real Melbourne not a throw away line like "we are Melbourne" I think that everyone needs a time out, the players and the club can see the real Melbourne and so can those non Melbourne fwits that will be suggesting that we have all gone skiing.I hate that [censored] but I hate being invisible and irrelevant more.

Just an idea as its a long long preseason for us and the players.

Taking my 81 year old Dad to Etihad for a thumping by an expansion club probably doesn't scream 'Happy Fathers Day'. More abuse of the elderly than anything.

I know well how you feel however this game is not the one to do your suggestion.

Next weekend we will suffer a another 100 point hiding.

That leads into the game at the dome of death that MFC supporters hate and as you say add Fathers day and there will be no one there .

How is it going to look making a big deal with 5000 supporters in attendance?

I like your idea but that is not the date to start.

No I went yesterday, it was as bad as anything I've seen in the past 5 years. I was gutted. Had to remind myself that the 22 players out there are paid good money to play for the team we love and what they've dished up in the past 2 weeks and in patches through the year is just horrible. You look at some of the losses and just shake your head.

We are still every bit a bottom 2-3 side.

I appreciate that OD but I think it's less about football and more about us.

I think that we need to catch up rather than stress about the crap.

I know that sounds weird but I have been through a lot of mental torture!

Depends what my dad would like to do

I personally don't give two shits anymore and I hate that stadium and would rather not waste another weekend feeling like crap after a poor performance.

I don't believe in Fathers days, Mothers days et al just another reason for retailers to get another buck!!

Every day is fathers day in my house, don't need a special "Day"

Anyway in answer to your question

Nup

I went yesterday and sorry no guts no glory! Was shocked at what I saw!

Done for this year and seriously considering what to do for next.

Insipid players and distinct lack of Gonads in this club!

I'm very frustrated with this club at present!

Gee I reckon membership will feel the brunt of these last two weeks!

I shudder to think what shocking losses in the last two weeks will do!

Nup Time to Chase the last winter run of Salmon

More action, More fight, lots more thrills!!

Hnmm even fish with miniscule brains fight harder than our Bunch!

Sad!

I'll be there.

As bad as we can be I love the weekend ritual of going to the footy to watch my beloved Dees with hope in my heart. I miss it like [censored] when the season is over.

I would have gone and allowed Biffen to [censored] over my credit card BUT fmd, after the the [censored] up against Carlton... FMD ... no [censored] way will I attend another game this year!!!

Just going to go to the pub with the old man. Can't stomach the disappointment in person.

I might go. May be the only opportunity to see melbourne play in september for quite some time.

Can anyone give me a good reason why I should go? The players seem to have shut up shop for the year.

I will go coz it's what my dad and I have done together for 30 years. I am also a complete sucker for pain, upset and disappointment. I love the club and could never give up on them. I often wish I could. So I will be amongst the 500 people there

Now if you're suggesting that we all meet up there for a celebration to pay tribute to long-suffering supporters, & deliberately pay no attention to whatever's happening on the grass in the middle ...

Maybe we could enact all kinds of ritual humiliations, flo.ggings and so forth. Get it out of our system.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
