Hey Picket, you left off the "es" in your last line. You know you want to.

Yeah but too much Wines clouds judgement!

Best leave this beverage for another time and or place!

I am honestly at the point where, bizarre as it sounds, I wouldn't even be particularly pumped if that happened. I would just be concerened that they will continue to back it up next week and next year. When they won down in Geelong, it should have been a turning point. Everything that came after should have matched that standard - but instead it has regressed all the way back to worst in the comp status. Playing to their potential once every 4-5 weeks and the rest being garbage is in some ways more infuriating then seeing no good at all.

Apologies if mentioned elsewhere, but according to AFL site, Brayshaw and Harmes will be rested this week, to give them a breather. Roos wants players to start playing and getting angry, he believes that they feel too sorry for themselves.

Pretty much sums up what most on here have been saying, which is why I think possibly Garland, Howe, Dunn(?), Grimes (?) as the old guard, may be moved on. Not sure about contract status of Grimes and Dunn, but you get my drift.

Dunn and Garland? I somehow doubt that they will be moved on.

That's called a 'wetdream" picket.

Seems funny resting players with 2 games left...

maybe it's the last hoorah for some of the old guard or maybe saving up for a shot at the last game of the season.

Harmes has been sub a few times but he's had 7 straight games since his debut, as a second year player I might've sent him back to the VFL or kept him as sub but I can understand the thinking with a rest.

Brayshaw effectively had the week off when hit in the opening seconds against West Coast but for the last 3 weeks he's looked particularly tired. I'm relieved they are resting him no matter how many games left. If you keep going to the well with a young guy who looks clearly tired you're asking for an injury.

He may well be OD... he might walk, but I somehow doubt that the club would be pushing him.

I agree hardtack

All the indications seems to suggest he is leaving.

Has all the hall marks of Frawley last year to me.

I think the club believes he is worth X and he has either an offer of more from another club and or he wants to go to a club that wins more than it loses.

I think the same applies to Howe.

Harmes? Meh, I can't really see why he has been given the extended run denied to Toumpas earlier in the year.

Toumpas played 8 games in a row earlier in the year.

Harmes has played 7 games total.

Resting Brayshaw in round 22? Only about six weeks too late for that one. Harmes? Meh, I can't really see why he has been given the extended run denied to Toumpas earlier in the year.

Harmes provides a bit of spark and even though he sprays it at least his confidence doesn't wane throughout a match like Toumpas' does.

Toumpas has needed extended VFL time to mature as a football. He has seriously looked like a 12-year-old playing a man's game at times.

If Brayshaw and Harmes are going out, presumedly with H as well, then you'd expect Tyson, JKH and Fitzpatrick to come in.

No point bringing Jamar in now.

Now I am about to type a negative so I hope the players are busy and don't get the vibes.

I think they i.e. the FD think this game is expendable.

Will lose any way so freshen up a few for the last game where we have a much better chance.

And end the season on a win.

The 7 game objective is achieved and no one thought we had a pray against Freo anyway.

Season ends with a win and all the negative members end the year with a positive.

I will be surprised if he is not traded or de listed. Having said that he will probably be in the side tonight.

I think you are right OD. Especially since Freo need to win to ensure a home final. No hope we'd encounter them resting.

I have kind of been thinking the same. Even put a tenner on it for the heck of it.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
