We are seeing the real damage done by the tanking era.

What did Buckley say to Pendlebury? Paraphrasing, "We don't pick and and choose when we put in. We put in unconditionally."

A team coached or encouraged not to win, un-learns how to win.

Not even the great Mark Neeld could eradicate the cancer. Poor bugger was set up. Who knows what he could have done with a team that puts in.

This coach transition business ??

Normally a coach comes in .... breath of fresh air , ... new game plan... no preconceptions..

Our next coach, is coming in tarred with the bollocks of games like today!!

Very depressing.

I'll keep buying 4 premium memberships every year and buying those stupid 200$ raffle tickets.... Its what we do

But games like today are just the pits.

And Garlett!!! ... i didn't think he was playing until i saw him chatting with his old chums at half time!!!!

Start totally from Scratch do a GWS !! Go to gill and tell him club is stuffed clear the slate let us start again and give us the world!! Oh Hang on!?

Results speak? His results have been impressive, especially considering his age, lack of experience, and woeful quantity and quality of service he gets.

He had a stinker today, but the above comment is absolute drivel.

"Yeah, not bad. You? It's good here, they're paying me a bomb, and it's light duties. Not much danger of getting injured, everyone's easy going, especially the coaches, yeah, but here's the kicker. I'm one of the best players and they love me! My skills are declining, so is my desire, my heart, and everything else you need to win, but as soon my contract's up I'll be out of here before it's too late for a flag. Nice work if you can get it."

Turnovers kill in modern footy.

We are the greatest serial killers in the game's history.

We either get rid of the unskilled players, or continue with the crap being served up.

Spot on Redleg

Most of our players have poor kicking and hand ball skills .

To replace them will take another 3 years mininum

Not sure most supporters after a decade of crap can go the distance.

Tassie may get a side quicker than they think.

Poor buggers they don't deserve us.

Sorry Praha I don't agree

Carlton kicked five goals from turnovers in the first half.

They were the direct result of our inability to hit targets by foot and hand.

It has been happening for months.

We constantly kick ourselves out of games.

How did we lose to the bombers?

Poor kicking.

How did we lose to St kilda twice?

Poor kicking.

We are blessed with a team of players who in the main cannot hit targets in games be they their teams mates or the score board.

I simply refuse to allow this current generation of inept, overpaid and mentally weak mfc players, the uninspiring on field leaders and the seemingly endlessly pathetic mfc player performances & results to make me want to give up on this club and the dream of one day seeing my footy team win a flag.

I am 33 years old and so I can't profess to have suffered through the clubs woes during the late 60s, 70s and early 80, but looking back to the days when I first really started supporting this club as a12 yr old watching the ox (pre knee recos) tear up and G against the blues in the 94 finals series, it seems like a lifetime ago, but even then I could sense we were bitterly close to an elusive flag, and just the same in 98 and 2000 for many of the same reasons, hard luck , up there but just not good enough to go all the way. The ups and downs of the daniher era were annoying but you always knew we could turn things around and be competitive. I could never have imagined what lie in wake for us these past 8 years, but one thing I do know is that in this game the wheel keeps spinning, dynasties don't last forever and nor does languishing at the bottom of the ladder, yeah sure some clubs have a far better record than us of rebounding and turning things around , but no matter how far back you go through the history of the game , each club has it's day and it's moments, and it's glories, and we have been walking in the wilderness for a long time and waiting and dreaming (even if delusionally) for our time to come

Someone earlier on this thread referred to supporting Melbourne, paying your membership and enduring all of this sh$t over the past 10 years as an "obligation" I would agree and part of it also gives me a sense of calm when watching typical performances like this today, whilst frustrating, I feel more connected to this club (not the players or the administration) but it's history and supporters and the journey and the obligation not to give up on it and the desire to one day see it be a powerhouse again. I wish it would come quicker, but it won't, but I know one day it will

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
