James Hird Sacked

Saw him on 360 last night he said much the same as that article.

At times he was almost incoherent.

My impression ( hardly new ) is that he is hopelessly conflicted on the subject of Hird.

He is simply a fan boy who cannot see the forest for the trees.

Whatever credit I thought he may have left disappeared for me.

MM treated him with disdain years ago.

He was correct.

Still cant believe Hird said in his presser that David Zaharaskis is soft at the contest. Sure he was attempting to be lighthearted, but the bottom line is that he has shown terrible judgement at every turn. Incredible thing to say at any time, never mind at the press conference announcing you've been sacked in disgrace.

He's already been using a ghostwriter for them for the last 3 years.

I was told yesterday that in his pre-coaching days when Hird used to write a regular column for the Herald Sun that Mark Robinson was his ghost writer. I don't know if my source is necessarily in the know, though. So, is it common knowledge or has it ever been confirmed that Mark Robinson was Hird's ghost writer?

I am quite sure that Zaharakis was the only guy not to opt into the injection program, there was an explanation that he had a phobia of needles but wasn't confirmed?

We don't know because all of the Essendon players want the truth to come out but no one is talking

Far more than a fanboi to Hird. There is more to their relationship than that.

Still doing a bit of reading at Bomberblitz and there are people calling for him to be President/Board Member.

They are honestly fools, the lot of them. They honestly can't see what he has done to the club.

Robbo has been disgraceful for years. He's just a bomberblitz nuffie who somehow has a position of power in the AFL media. He should fall on his sword too for using the herald sun for his own agenda. Go write a blog you amateur.

There is no need to down grade bloggers like that Pipefitter!!

Lets face it, with a few exceptions sports reporters and journos are not the smartest people on the planet. In fact if they were smart they would not be doing what they are doing. Football journos are probably at the bottom of the pile. In fact, half of them are not journalists, but merely reporters. Often think the term journalist gives credibility to a pretty ordinary bunch. Also there are so many of them nowadays all trying to break stories and get their name.......well, in the paper.

McDevitt from ASADA was angered by Hird’s repeated debasing of the joint ASADA and AFL investigation into the program that ran at Windy Hill in 2012.

He said the departed coach needed to accept responsibility.

“He has repeatedly referred to this as the ASADA scandal and did again today. Don’t blame ASADA for doing its job. Blame him and others for not doing theirs,” McDevitt said.

This is not the ASADA scandal. It is the Essendon scandal and will go down in history as such.”

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
