Some serious questions asked about Paul Roos ...

Yes, I think he is more concerned that you hate an individual for your perception that he does not have enough chat.

I obviously have more reasons that that. You can tell that through the way I actually stated them. Like the average hack poster here you just change the content of the other person's post willy nilly and respond that instead. Shut up.

Maybe you would like to go back to the two young captains? SWYL

Besides sacking everyone, which you seem to want to do, What is your solution to our problem?

we have to import Leaders from outside

Proper Leaders

Not just anyone

Otherwise it is goodnight.

Well, you have already stated you hate me so there's that also...

I don't think any of your reasons is really enough to hate an individual for the way he plays or doesn't play footy, so you can state all the reasons you want, you will still look like a sheep standing on its hind legs...

Sadly we have to take what we can get. There isn't a queue of eligible players waiting to join the Dees......

Lumumba played every game in his last year & may have been in top 5 of B&f...

Hawks recruited Dew, Burgoyne others from other clubs but the environment & culture @ the Hawks turned them around...

All new players walking into our club are trying to help build that culture ... Big difference....

Open your eyes Boss

Nobody is going to watch or sponsor efforts like yesterday. We have been putrid for a decade.

That is a full generation

Too many people think it will just fix itself...

If we have been so bad for a generation.....How come we are still here????

Because money talks and the broadcasters need 18 teams.

The new rights deal ends in 2022 and you can bet that as we speak ,behind the scenes the AFL and Channel 7 power brokers will be working out if a new team in Tassie or somewhere else is feasible.

If we haven't sorted our [censored] out in the next couple of years, the club will die. We are a burden on the league and on advertisers. Its just a fact.

Your comments re Dew and Burgoyne are spot on.

They already had a core of Lewis, Hodge, Mitchell, Franklin, Roughead...Dew was a one year top up who filled a need, and helped fluke them a flag. Burgoyne, like Lake and Frawley was also recruiting for need. They have done really well picking the eyes out of other clubs (add Gunston). Clarkson had been building that culture for four years before Dew got there.

The only coach at our place who comprehensively tried to reset culture that I know of was Neale D. He took the players into classrooms to get into their heads why you play this game.

For those questioning Roos commitment need to watch him now on 360. You can tell he is really hurting inside. He just looks flat as i have ever seen him.

I trully believe now that he is trying everything in his power to try and rectify on whats going on on field.

Roosy's little rant was pretty condescending towards us supporters. To think that us going to work and getting a bit of light hearted ribbing about our team losing is the extent of it, lacks the understanding of the hurt a lot of supporters feel.

Agree 100% with the bolded part. But I am sick of waiting for it to turn as you are.

There are plenty here with blinkers on when it has been obvious for at least 4months that Roos doesn't know what to do with this mob.

Our best performance for the year was when the players coached themselves for a week. What does that say about the coaching? He's given them a week off after a belting, taken them to the movies. I mean FFS its not a complicated game. You bring effort and focus on running and winning contested ball for a start, then you hit targets.

There are probably 5 players on our list that can safely beat their man on any given day,

leadership is non existent.

Garland and Lumumba are frankly pathetic footballers that shouldn't be there.

McDonald is a goer but whne he has the ball in hand is a worry.

Dunn has lost his ability to win a one on one.

Midfield is appalling. Viney tries hard but makes way too many basic errors.

Vince got thrashed against a first year player. We are robbing peter to pay Paul

Jones is courageous but unable to drag his players with him.

Cross is done. Way too many mistakes.

Watts just infuriates me the way he plays 5-10m off his man. Morton used to the same thing. You can see the play unfold and lay money on his man geting the ball.

Gawn can't ruck by himself all day and is not flexible enough. Kruezer beat him handsomely.

Howe should just fark off now. Most overated player on our list (by outsiders not necessarily melbourne supporters)

Dawes has to go. Adds zero to the team.

Garlett plays when he wants to.

Brayshaw was looking pretty spent,. Needs a rest

Grimes Mitchie and newton are triers but not the answer.

And none of these useless hacks can play a team game. They don't look out for each other shepherd, don't spread, can't read the play. Hopeless.

The coach is clueless as to how to fix this. Good luck trying to atract a decent midfielder to our team this year paul.

But apart from these minor quibbles you're pretty upbeat Jnr Mac?

This opinion represents our playing group/club mentality I reckon. A little bit of harsh truth and we [censored] up

I have to agree with daveydazzler, I think we saw some passion from PR. get upset about an option but all he was saying is he is working hard at getting us better....

It may not have been the best description but it had some passion and that's what I liked

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out
