Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

C & B to avoid playing more sides who are above us so often we have to start winning. Then we will be playing more games against sides below us and not as many against sides above us.

Yeah. I heard someone complaining that Hawthorn (last year) never played anyone above them, while we always did! :-)

In: Grimes, Terlich, Spencer, Michie, Tyson, ANB, Stretch

Out: Garland (inj), vandenBerg (inj), Newton, Jones

I thought you were joking when I first read this. Terlich? Really?

Do u realise we are full of excuses and have been for the last 8 years?

I just want us to win a game which we should win.

We all agree. However, the question is "should" the appropriate word when half the team has been run over by a bus. Frustrating as it is, sometimes excuses are reasons.

I'd say that is Roosey's way of letting Spencil kno that he is still a required player. At least until seasons end and Gawn has been given a decent run to see whether he's an option as well.

Roos is no doubt looking through all options at Casey for remainder of season before his next clean out and Gawn should get a decent crack at it over the next month or so, just like he did with Spencil.

Look, I thought that too, but you could do that by talking to him in your office. And without publicly starting that Jamar, despite playing better than Spencer, is clearly your third ruck now. Surely that's a bit insulting to him.

To be honest I will be gutted if ANB doesn't get a run. Perfect game for him to wear the green vest. Then rest him against Geelong and give him some more run at Casey. He'll get a feel for the pace of AFL footy and can go back and work on his game. Would also like to see Stretch in the mix.

Grimes and Terlich are both in to replace Garland who I think has been very solid this year. Will be missed. You would think Grimes has that spot. Hopefully they are trying to build confidence in Terlich again as it would be good to have him and grimes battling for the backline reserve role.

I would actually really like to see ANB play the whole game. He is a player that strives on getting his hands on the ball as much as possible. With Vandenberg out its a good opportunity to get some AFL level match time into ANB. Because of his lack of preseason and injury etc. they won't be able to play him as much as Brayshaw. But bringing him in for stints like they might be doing with Stretch is a good idea.

Hope Billly Stretch wears the yellow vest.

I must be the only one on this board who likes Terlich as a player. I hope he plays, and plays well.

It amazes me that so many paid up members of the Lumumba fan club are so anti-Terlich. Their strengths and weaknesses are very similar, the main difference is that Lumumba has played 200+ games and gets paid a fortune, whilst Terlich has played about 30 games and gets paid peanuts.

I'm hoping for a bench of Grimes, Terlich, Neal-Bullen and Riley (sub).

Worried about this game. Saints have over-performed for most of the season imo. Interesting that the Saints are favourites. No one has faith in Melbourne, and rightly so.

Honestly thats a stupid idea. Couldnt think of a more worse idea to use idea to use a young player.

Lumumba is a smarter footballer than Terlich.

Lumumba isn't a great kick but he is better than Terlich.

Lumumba can push forward, and can kick goals, Terlich can't.

Lumumba can lead, and direct players on gameday, Terlich can't, or doesn't.

Lamumba can play on smalls and talls due to his height, jump and pace. Terlich can't.

Lamumba is proven on the big stage, and can perform in high pressure games.

etc. etc. etc.

The danger players for us to give plenty of attention to for the Saints are Armitage, Stephen, Riewoldt and Bruce.

They have 2 of the best mids in the comp who potentially could tear us apart. I'm glad that little rodent Schneider isn't playing because he can be difficult to contain.

I reckon Vince will go to Armitage and McDonald to Riewoldt.

We need to hurt them with strong tackling that's why I believe Reilly will get a game, and probably not as sub, who I believe will be ANB.

If Terlich gets picked ahead of Grimes I think Jack can start packing his bags.

The bench for me should be Grimes, Riley, Stretch and ANB ( sub )

If you read the Casey match reports Terlichs form has been very ordinary.

We don't need any more turnover specialists

Could add Montagna to that list. He usually plays well against us...

Will be interesting to see who takes Bruce - he's been far more dangerous as a goalkicker for them this year than Riewoldt so I wouldn't be surprised to see TMac start there or get moved on to him if Fitzy/Dunn aren't getting the job done.

Garlo's one of my favourites, but were St Kilda playing the resting ruck him being out wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

This is now the third week in a row that clubs who play two rucks opt to go for one against us, and finally we have reacted (forcibly) by taking a tall out of our defence.

McDonald on Roo is ideal, and hopefully Dunn can do a job on the in-form Bruce on his 150th.

Hoping Vince goes head to head with Armo, old fashioned type of thing rather than a tag.

I wouldn't mind Viney following Steven around though, but would also like our mids to play their own game rather than negate a team we need to beat.

Hogan needs a big one, and I wonder whether we might tell him that and then give him a double rest against Geelong with the bye coming up.

Riewoldt will make absolute mince meat out of Dunn or Fitzpatrick if they tried to follow him around. Roo is the perfect match up for McDonald, roaming forward who can be forced wide. He's too good a mark to force a regular spoil out of, unlike a Jeremy Cameron, but TMac will need to get him in the wrong spots.

Would be a good idea to watch them both before you say that.

Both butcher the ball from defence sure, but Prince 420 actually runs with it and breaks lines when he's not show boating in front of his old team mates/decides to front up.

As you can see, I'm no Lumumba fan; but he's much better than Terlich.

And I don't even mind Terlich that much.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
