Seemed like Toump getting a string of games has helped, previously he seemed too nervous like any mistake and he'd be dropped the next week, building nicely atm

Cam "the people's second forward" Pedersen. Chris Dawes needs to work his way back into this team.

Damn straight he does.

If Dawes is an automatic walk-up start inclusion and Pedersen gets dropped I'd be fuming.

Please I studied him today... He is a hang out...... Granted he played better in the second half....Hardly reason to sing all the praise... Then again we love mediocrity. :\

Funnily enough I thought his first half was his better half. Not every player is a crash and bash like N.Jones or Vandenberg.. You need some outside players and when there time to go they go just like Toump did on the half forward line at the city end when he went back and created that spoil. Toughness doesn't always have to be measured in physicality... I saw Toumpas will himself from the members wing to the far pocket when he got on the end of that Watts pass for a goal, that's toughness just in a different sense. His never gonna be a physical player but if plays games like he did today than I think MOST supporters would be more than happy

Oh, one more thing and I'm done for tonight.....smiling too much.

Anyone who continues to opine that JW should play for Casey, watch the replay.....time, space, composure, decision making.

As Roos said, the highest footy IQ going around.

Did you see the look on Roosy's face when he was bumped off the ball by Dalhaus in the final quarter, costing a crucial goal?

Today's win was moderately pleasing, but I remain pessimistic about the team's long term potential. I was able to identify critical errors from that one player that I don't like and refuse to see any upside from his performance today. Also, I expect us to lose next week.

Geez, lighten up mate.

Just arrived back home and have seen the result after having no TV or internet access all day. Go Dees!!!

About to watch the highlights for the first of many times.

Edit: Highlights watched. Vince is a champ, Spencer is a monster and Hogan is God...that is all.

Garlett's forward pressure is outstanding. Could've kicked 3 or 4 today

Massive credit to Fitzy as well. Were all his marks off opposition kicks? I think we needed that height down back, plus he can run and read the ball

Based on his final term I think Riley should be a regular in the team, our midfield was at it's best in ages despite not having Viney and Tyson

When Bail had that set shot at the end of the last quarter I knew he was going to shank it. He just can't impose himself I've seen it 2 many times. Whereas Garlett & Vince had very difficult shots that that they nailed. Different class Bail delist material.

You mean second quarter don't you. Take a break from posting

They did seem to fit in well together. Kept out of the way but were there for support. And Pedersen actually grabbed his marks and kicked his goals.

Thats exactly why I said Pedo and Hogan. They worked really well together. I mean Pedo was obviously better than Dawes he took a contested mark. But Pedo and Hogan complimented each other well.

Made me cringe, that. Shameful effort, but fortunately it wasn't the norm for him this game.

A real shocker. Didn't shirk the packs, went in... But not good one on one. Several times he was on a shorter opponent after a point and the kick out went the other way.

Needs work

GOOD GAME

Finally, there is no chat here about Watts' mistakes...probably because he didn't make any

He played fairly well I thought.

Not high possessions but he made each one count. Took his time and waited for the right option then made perfect passes.

Helped set up a few goals.

I really liked that in the pregame interview Roos gave him a bit of praise with: 'We need Jack's skills and class...you don't miss someone until they are not there and last week we missed him...glad he is back' or words like that.

A few more games like that and people won't be so critical.

I hope purple was watching, having made such a d... of himself with his stupid comments!

What I liked is that he attacked every contest. That level of commitment is what is required week in and week out.

Bloody good effort by pretty much all.

M. Jones and Bail were terrible, must be dropped if two of Viney, Tyson or Jetta is available.

Great to see Toump play well, good to see Grimes play better.

Loved Riley's last quarter, Brayshaw was immense in the last, Pedo's game was great.

Thought Garland was pretty good all night. Vince and Vanders were good.

Glad I kept Vanders in my SuperCoach, nearly traded him! 131 points!

Hogan, makes me happy, very happy.

Glad they won, the bullflog supporters behind us and in the AFL members were angry, illiterate nonces.

I've finally worked out the secret on how to demonland

You never critique anything or anyone negatively

no matter how carp they are, you keep talking up players

no matter how awful we are, you keep saying 'i'm backing us to win this week'

then, at some point in the future, one of your chickens will inevitably come home to roost

then you come here and act like a hero bigshot knowall

sorry had to be said

M. Jones following the J. Magner slide from 'raw but important mid' to 'small forward with very little pressure' to 'surplus to requirements'.

In no way is this meant as a sleight to either of those two players, they were exactly what we needed at the time. But even Blind Freddy knew that if we were to improve, they should quickly be rendered NQR. As much as I love Jordie McKenzie for the same reason, circa his recruitment through to last year, if we're to move forward, we need someone who has more skills than 'having a crack'. I'll continue to stand by our #13, but unfortunately other players have surpassed his skill level on exposed form.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
