Not sure how you can know that Bub.  Inside info?

Apart from the visual confusion of a wheelbarrow being driven by a tram driver, I still don't understand you. Surely the only way for the EFC to rebuild "on more honourable and acceptable principles" is to use new "tram drivers". How else can they do it?

Have the new tram drivers decided on a different route.....or still continuing the journey with the same ol' clapped out jargon.

Have they come out and denounced what took place ? I don't see it. I do see different faces plying the "party" line. Ding ding....all aboard to WindyHill.

The day someone in charge at Essendon comes out with " we really did a bad thing and we must bear the consequences ,learn and move on" is when I'll believe something has changed.

Exactly. My gripe here isn't so much with the " the players are innocent" line, although I do think they would have had some kind of idea . But rather the complete lack of responsibility around WHO exactly endorsed it. Lets bring Hird back because we love him ( he's obviously innocent too) Good ol' doc Reid wrote a letter (that no one one read apparantly) ...so I guess he's innocent...but the AFL warned us so THEY must be guilty as hell.....and ASADA took too long because we took them to court and hid all our records so goddam it they're guilty too!! I just angry when I read that kind of shite.

A program that extensive is going to have quite a few minds behind it. Personally I believe Hird is up to his neck in it as are many others. So, Im only on the side of lighter penalites for the players if the club is fully scrutinised and those w deep involvement FOUND, names and banned.

I'd respect the " bring back Hird" idea if it happens after the players are all banned and his involvement is made clear. Then it has some meaning. At the moment its still about minimising what is massive, ongoing and comprehensive cheating

yeah right. He CHEATED

As did the entire club...

Of course let Jab keep his Brownlow.  Can you imagine how hurt Timmy and his mum would be if he were to be stripped of it?? We've had some great Best and Unfairest winners over the years. Dipper comes to mind and there are plenty others. Let's have a drug enhanced one too.

If we are found guilty of cheating don't penalise us. So what if we gained an unfair advantage by cheating, don't take away poor Jabs brownlow. Our team of discredited drug cheats worked tirelessly to enable Jab to win that brownlow. He deserves it for all the hard cheating we did, whatever it takes.. Don't you know the old saying , cheats never prosper except Essendrug.

I'm hoping that Santa is making a list and checking it twice, before he delivers a sleigh load of bans, all gift wrapped by the lovely CAS elves, with a nice big card from WADA attached.

All Santa will ask for in return, is jabs cheating medal. Fair swap I think.

So, we did nothing wrong. Jab should keep his brownlow. Hird should be welcomed back.

FMD these guys just do not get it.

1. Ban all the players

2. Jab to hand back Browlnow and it be re-issued to Mitchell and Cotchin

3. Ban Hird from all sport worldwide for life.

4. Ban little from being a company director for life.

5. Ban Dr Reid from practising medicine anywhere on this earth but particularly anywhere near young men/women and sports.

6. Ban the club from the next 5 drafts.

Probably Little's exit is tied to their AGM timetable or some such, but why now?   Why not wait a couple of months till the CAS decision is made. Then either Little retires in a blaze of innocent glory or the club can let the new broom come in and clean up the mess by blaming the past.  By doing it now Tanner is almost tied to spouting the sort of guff he has.

Little said some time back that he would stand down as Chairman once the WADA matter was dealt with. Given the CAS hearing is concluded, there's nothing further he can do, so I think standing down now is consistent with his statement.

While I think Little's tenure has not been good for Essendon, contrary to what appear to be the views of some others on here, I see his departure as necessary if Essendon is ever going to recover from this problem. One which is entirely of its own making. And, again contrary to what others here seem to be saying, I want Essendon to recover. It's good for the AFL to have a strong core of traditional clubs.

dream result. Although I would be more inclined to take away their first rounder for 5 years. Otherwise how do they replace retired players etc?

300 point floggings wouldnt be funny for too long.

I think we have the take LT's comments with a grain of salt.

Look at where they were made. The EFC AGM is preaching to the faithful. He is trying to rally the troops.

Don't get too wound up about them WADA won't.

Like OD says, LT is just rallying the troops. Don't get wound up about a breath of fresh air at Windy Hill/Tullamarine. The damage was done, they'll have to wear it (so to the AFL) whatever turns up in the coming days.

I like it that no one knows, and club insiders are reportedly edgy.

If there is an overturned finding, penalties will be (reportedly) heavily reduced (ie.back dated).

Its good for the AFL if they forget about continually trying to make the strong " traditional" clubs stronger and think about the entire competition for a chnage. We're THE original club and no one really gives a rats about our exposure or strength. I'd love Essundone to crash and burn quite frankly...and recover in a few years. Maybe 10.

From Warner (HS) this morning: -

"A guilty finding could see 12 Bombers from the club's 2012 list - including Watson - sidelined for up to two years, though heavily reduced suspensions would be likely."

Is that the same warner who rhetorically asked, when the ASADA investigation was on, "what is a fair ban? 2 weeks? 3 weeks?"

A joke of a man, who cannot be taken seriously.

I beg to differ LDvC. I think he should have stayed around so if they go down he could deal with it. He's already tainted anyway. Whereas Tanner is coming in as a new face. If he has to be the face of the Club and be in the Press everywhere dealing with a guilty decision, he will be tarnished with it just like Little. Why not stay until the final decision was handed down in a few weeks.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
