THE DRUG SCANDAL: AFL TRIBUNAL DECIDES

I think Mc Devitt feels that the AFL tribunal stopped the domino from falling, which it should have done and then taken the other ones with it.

that tribunal wasnt that good about joining dots ( or dominoes)

From what I can see, not too many seem to share your view. The outcome at the tribunal turned on one decision, whether or not it was TB4 that left the plant - that manufactures TB4.

Once that domino didn't fall, none of the others followed.

That's the thing that concerns me. A sports scientist arranges for drugs to be supplied by a Chinese manufacturer who produces TB4 i.e. the "bad" Thymosin and the Tribunal which claims to be comfortably satisfied that the players didn't ingest the "good" Thymosin can't conclude that the sports scientist injected the product that one purchases from that manufacturer. They simply don't know.

It's like going to the milk bar, asking for a bottle of milk, getting a bottle with white liquid that has all the attributes of milk and the court saying they're not comfortably satisfied that you purchased milk.

Redleg who has years of experience in the court system will tell you that judges who determine cases will sometimes pluck decisions like that out of their proverbials when it suits them.

Not a "backyarder"

Tribunal appeared to trivialize the Chinese supplier of TB4 but the Company has cred!

THE Chinese Mnf. GL-Biochem is part of Global group 'Commonwealth Biotechnologies, Inc Richmond Virginia' and has Corporate ties to Melbourne lab Mimotopes.

RICHMOND, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Commonwealth Biotechnologies, Inc. (“CBI”) (CBTE.OB) is pleased to provide this market update about its planned acquisition of Shanghai-based GL-Biochem and its associated businesses (collectively the “GL Group”), one of the largest global suppliers of research-grade peptide products and peptide reagents. On completion of the transaction, CBI believes it will be the largest supplier of pre-clinical peptide reagents and custom peptide synthesis services in the world. The Company will be comprised of (i) the GL Group in China, (ii) Mimotopes Pty Ltd in Australia and (iii) assets in Richmond, Virginia. In addition to the GL Group, CBI will continue to own and operate Mimotopes Pty Ltd, based in Melbourne, Australia, an industry leader in the peptide and discovery chemistry sector.

Waiting for the accusation that the Chinese company substitued MSG for the good Thiomysin like the lame excuse in today's paper where a drug traffiicker blames Chinese syndicates for giving him 30kg of Ice instead of peptides to smuggle to Australia and got caught. Edited by america de cali

It's worse than that, the tribunal said it was possibly TB4 or TB500, both banned substances, so it is like buying milk, marked milk, but then claiming it may be low fat milk so we can't really call it milk!

truly sickens me how farcical it all has been.

The best way I've heard it summed up was:

1,2,3,4,_,6,_,8,9

We all know the missing numbers are 5 and 7, but you can't prove it so Essendon aren't guilty

Well actually we know they are 5 and 7, not missing at all, but was the 5 a 5 or was it a 5? Was the 7 a 7 or a 7 ?

You can see how the Tribunal members might be uncertain, especially if suddenly switching to absolute proof when all over decisions weren't. Clear as mud ( or that other brown muddy stuff)

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form
