I generally love your 3 word reviews, but this is the worst you have ever done.

Lucky though, it is only NAB Challenge matches, so you are just "blowing" out the cobwebs.

Not a bad summation of today's performances. I fear that your review of Viney's game will be a common theme throughout his career.

P.S You missed Toumpas

Posted

Garlett - great pick up

Toumpas- confidence building game

Salem - prolific ball winner

Viney- first game back

Jones - easy 22 disposals

Tyson- typical Tyson game.

M jones - disposal worris me

Jetta - played his role

Dunn - played his role

McDonald - great attacking run

Lumumba - versatile game today

Hogan - underdone but huge

JKH - great in patches

Cross- average game today

Gawn - ok but average

Bail - didn't get much

Frost - quiet but explosive

Newton - quiet game today

Michie - ok for sub

Vandenberg - head collision sub

Watts- silky given opportunity

Garland - lethargic and slow

Don't know if missed any today's game was so poor against rally poor opposition.

"Tyson - prolific but wasteful"

I hope this isn't common for Dom. His disposal has been very poor in the first two games.

I didn't see the match but this is very much to the contrary of what I've heard so far. For Hogan to be 'disappointing' in his third game of AFL level footy is a bit stiff.

Posted

I didn't see an issue with Dunns rating?

As per the norm dazzle there is no explanation. It's just 'opinion', which he says we are free to have but it's always wrong unless it's in line with his.

Extremely stiff for hogan imo, he spilled a mark and didn't dominate but my God he worked hard, he got to good positions.

Hogan was in no way disappointing. He's rusty, he lacks touch, but he's running hard, crashing packs and making his presence known. Sooner or later he'll get his touch back and those marks will stick.

Agreed. we really missed him in the second half, as he was that link up player pushing up the ground and presenting Riewoldt style.

Those actually at the ground would have seen a definite game plan in action, as distinct from the way the Bullies went about it.

Markedly different approach when playing down wind cf against the wind. Few, if any, long bombs.

Unlike you to be dismissive of other posters, TDI.

I used to think Joeboy's 3 word were good, but towards the end of last season and now this, seems a bit pessimistic to me, and samey, not sure if he watched the game

My opinion of course

I actually appreciated the efforts you took to present a regular training report for people who weren't as lucky as you,and were employed , so I'd just be interested to know ( in 3 words per player only ) how YOU viewed each player's performance on the day ,and yes I was at the game.

Wouldn't bother giving him the time of day mate, not worth the headache.

I think maybe you were too influenced by the second half and not the first, which was damn good. I'm sure we took our foot off the pedal a bit and started trying some different options.

The wind in the last quarter also changed to the south and was blowing directly across the ground, so we lost the large advantage from the second quarter.

I am happy for him to build his game and develop, rather than being seen as the big white hope. They have always let us down when we expect too much.

The kid can play and we will see it soon enough.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
