Considering King is injured and he has been on our list longer then White I would say his chances are pretty high.

Harmes and Vandenberg to the senior list. Not sure if we'll persist with King yet.

Not sure either is in the best 22 yet.

Maybe not Harmes, but I like what I've seen of Vandenberg so far. But both will probably be upgraded to compensate the loss of Trengove and Petracca who'll eventually be moved to the LTIL

Both will only be promoted if they are due to play games. Giving them money for nothing if they haven't earnt a debut. But I expect both to go close if they stay fit for the year.

I don't think there is any rush to promote the rookies......The main season is still 5 weeks away

you can do it at any time through the season......When they are up to playing senior footy.

I think both will play NAB games and they will assess them from there.

I think Vandenberg may impress. From looking at him at pre-season training his attack on the ball and size is good. I think his skills are still probably not quite AFL standard but you can tell he really wants it which is always admirable. I think fans of Tappscott may like Vandenberg.

What does that even mean ? He is going to get his marching orders before the season even starts ?

Why is it so hard to understand that young ruckman always have been, always are and always will be a work in progress. They are always given more time than a speculative midfielder or back flanker as they take so much longer to develop.

While we persist with Spencer, we persist with King.

Shame we can't merge them into one, because they appear to be quite different types of ruckman. The muscular aggression of Spencer combined with the kicking skills of King. Hmmm.....

Considering Harmes hasn't been listed in the 29 mans squad going to Freo, I think the odds of him being upgraded have lengthened!

You need to be patient, King took out White today in match sim with a beautiful tackle that wrapped up the ball as well

King is a natural footballer who has 12 months to get his tank right. If he is struggling to play games out by the end of the year at Casey with his tank being his big focus this year he may well be shown the door, but 12 months is a long time in footy & I like what I see with him so I hope he makes it.

Spencer has another year after this on his contract, not going anywhere despite talk on DL, but he is what he is, a career VFL/backup ruck, not No1 AFL ruck imo. He's an experienced, mature bodied insurance in the ruck (anyone else remember Roos saying you need a ruck 'division' to rotate these days last year - we'll continue to have multiple options on the list post Jamar too).

Back on topic, I think Vandenberg will be first cab off the rank this year, but hope Harmes forces his way for a look in also. The more blokes pushing for selection from both the main list & rookie list the better of course! But I don't think anyone's 'getting out of Harmes way'. He'll have to push them out of his way on his own merits.

yes I would like to see us give either Harmes or Vandenburg an upgrade this year if they show good form at Casey.

Considering we have both Petracca and Trengove to replace on our list, maybe it doesn't necessarily have to be "or"! I suspect that Mitchell White maybe the fly in the ointment standing in the way of one of them.

Not enough love for this bloke after his effort on Saturday.

Loved the grab and first goal, and he definitely showed some tenacity.

Here's to hoping he can get another crack at starting on the field.

Totally agree Davo.

Did some nice things on the weekend and has shown enough in previous games that he's made of the right stuff.

Agree with today's posters.

This young man seems to not only have a bit of mongrel but also a good bit of tenacity/speed/workrate.

Skills might need some polish.

Definitely added a lot of life & movement when he came on.

One of those players who always looks up and about, obviously enjoying his footy. Good to see because he's got some pace and flair and represents a point of difference from the serious, dour inside mid types.

What are the chances of James Harmes being elevated into one of the possible 2 senior vacancies. Like the look of this kid.

Out of Harmes Way = Oohw

ffs, just get Oohw !

I love the effort he puts in. He just throws himself at the contest and holds nothing back. He still needs to work on his skills, but you can't possibly fault the work ethic and he's now had a couple of games and is getting his head around the pace of the game. I think he's going to make it.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
