My final outs would be: Cross, Jamar, McKenzie, Fitzpatrick, Riley, Bail, Terlich.

Hunt outcome pending trades - will delist and rookie if no further reduction in player numbers. Sign otherwise.

Candidates for trade: Watts, Grimes, Howe.

Re-sign: Garland, Toumpas, Pedersen, Michie.

Promote: Harmes, vandenBerg [Edited for clarity]

Retain: White, King.

I thought he had already signed.

It's not technically done yet but he has signed for two years.

He will be promoted with the last, or second last if Harmes is promoted, pick in the ND.

Ah, pressure is on now (hyperventilating).

I really just took 'offence' so I could use the GIF, I swear...

The GIF!!

Nah, I thought it was worthwhile. I probably should have done it much earlier, been following it with interest. Jamar retires (career comes to close).

So, reading between the lines, I suspect you might be of the view that Cross and Jamar are announced prior to the B&F night to give the room an opportunity to praise them while anyone else who will not get a new contract can still attend without feeling shamed. If so, that's a professional approach by the club.

I'm finding it very odd with all the delistings going on in other clubs that we have been so tight lipped. I thought one of us would be in the know with some news. Nothing on Big Footy either. When did our club get so damn good at keeping secrets!

Its a great point, was thinking as much today. I put it down to the "Trengove Factor", and by that I mean players will be shopped around without their knowledge, if a likely suitor is found player x will have 24 hours to make a decision(if that's the case they should just go because it's clear they are not wanted). If no suitor is found player x is none the wiser. We have enough passengers as it is without making them disgruntled.

The players know where they stand. Sure names get bandied around but a player knows if he is in the grey zone.

Next year is the big one for me.

Watts

Grimes

Dawes

M.jones

Terlich

Spencer

Only then will we be free.

While it is harsh it is true. It is clear that it takes 3-4 preseasons for a coach to make the list theirs. And if you have to prune as heavily as we have it takes time for the new players to gel and for it all to click.

By the start of next preseason, Roos will have done that, and Godwin will be able to mould the list unencumbered with the past.

I can't see how Terlich could possibly survive. Only player on the senior list who was not injured who didn't get near the side. The only other non-injured players who didn't play at all were the projects Hunt and King. The coach clearly has no intention of playing him, so terminate the contract and free up the spot for a player who has a greater than 0% chance of getting selected.

The cost of paying him is unavoidable, so don't worry about that at all.

Thanks for keeping this constantly updated rpfc, two points

- ND 5 should now be ND 6

- Have you calculated the later ND picks based on adjustments already in the system? (The gaps are 22, 20, 19, 20 and 14, apologies if this has been discussed earlier).

Forgetting Jordie?

Your point still stands though.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
