He'll come on next year, just like sylvia...

Just needs that elusive full preseason and away he goes... F me how many first rounders would that be gone? (Let it goes Cards)

Honestly, I had him on my list of straight delistings with half a chance of a low trade. Pretty sure anything we get for him is a bonus along with freeing space up on our list. For all his talent, Blease is lazy and only ever runs one way. If he thinks he'll get a better shot at another club with that attitude he's in for a rude shock.

I thought so too but he was awful v Brisbane. I've given up. If he couldn't get a dozen games this year I think the coach has also

Interesting that there's no flexibility with Blease. I clearly agree he doesn't have the tank to go all game. But gee, he is quick, can find the goals and would be a cracking sub 5-10 times a year. Not like he is holding a list spot away from some other star.

@TomBrowne7: Bit of news out of @melbournefc , they've put a lot of work into blease (pick 17), but I understand he wants a trade to @CarltonFC #afl

"He wants a trade" that's a bit rich.

IMO I'm sure he was on the way out anyways.

Pity but what do u do.

If he hasn't built an engine by now he is never going to...

Watching Kent square it up twice against the Roos, cemented Kent's spot and made the decision on Blease very clear (if there was any doubt).

Kent also has tons of courage, is a good mark and works hard for his teammates. He may not have the out and out pace of Blease, but I'll take him every time.

Another failed top 20 pick .... How many is that since 2007???

Surely our past recruiters & development people should never be allowed to work in another afl club ever again.... wtf disgrace!

He's exactly the sort of player Bailey wanted. His side was going to be built on speed, good disposal and relelntess attack. Basically he wanted the Demons to be Brazil. Sadly they were always going to get shown up by the Italian and German teams, as in fact happened.

The trouble is there may be no sub next year. Fair chance that rule will change and about time, one of the more stupid ideas.

With less interchange on the cards in the next few years and no sub the game will have passed by players who haven't got aerobic capacity.

On the contrary: let them all work at our opposition Clubs [just not ours]!

Another player that will get traded and star at another club. Depressing to say the least.

Like Silvia, Moloney.....Rivers has been serviceable, Petterd borderline, Martin a good 2nd half of the season.

So who are these players that have starred at another club?

He can play. Broken leg was a huge and unlucky situation.

Still has speed and can break the lines.

We have seen the worst but there is upside

Gysberts, Morton, Scully, Maric.

We delist and trade the right ones, it's picking them that we have the issue with.

Exactly. The only player that I can think of that has been successful with their new club is Scott Thompson. Stefan Martin is beginning to look like he may be another, but the jury is still out on that one.

People have been saying that for years, but in reality it should read:

If he can get the ball ... has speed and can break the lines ... but invariably turns it over before he gets subbed off because he's run out of puff.

Wasn't playing in the two's all year for nothing.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
