Luke Tapscott delisted

Tapscott was training with the other 22 or 23 players this morning. Not sure if that's significant.

Well, we have 2 rookie spots open, so it is not beyond the realms of possibility I suppose.

The below represents poor drafting, development & culture.... Whilst now it's in the past... The club should never allow this debacle to ever happen again.... Free agency aside on some of the players departure it reflects the club inability to attract & keep players!

Scully (pick 1), Morton (4), Gysberts (11), Frawley (12), Cook (12), Blease (17), Tapscott (18), Strauss (19), Maric (21) McLean (5) Sylvia(3) Trengove may never play again, Moloney & Rivers... All gone....

Worse was that none of them...Well maybe Rivers aside...were actually anything but very average AFL players.

and long will it be debated whether they were poor choices and / or poorly developed in a 'weak culture'. One will never ever know, though I know many will have theories and expound them, which if any of these would have become a star had they been drafted e.g. at Hawthorn or the Swans.

Tapscott continues Melbourne’s hellish record at the draft table since 2006 with Tom Scully (pick 1), Cale Morton (4), Jordan Gysberts (11), James Frawley (12), Lucas Cook (12), Sam Blease (17), James Strauss (19) and Addam Maric (21) no longer at the club either.

bloody hell what a crap recruiter we had.

Craig Cameron was responsible for Maric and Morton. Prendergast for the rest.

There was something unnatural about Tapscott. That over puffed physique like something that belongs to a cartoon character. Those soft tissue injuries crippled him. A victim of his own excesses I wonder?

He has an enormous scone.

Mt Rushmore size and probs just as hard.

It's no wonder he struggles to get around the park.

He needs all those muscles to cart that thing around

Mm mm......what a strange thing to say. Frawley was all Australian, Maloney/jamar combination was the best ruck on baller combination in the AFL under Bailey, McLean almost single handedly won us our last finals win. Rivers was rookie of the year and lived up to that for most of his Melbourne career and is a permanent fixture in one of the top three teams in the competition.

The rest I agree with.

Frawley netted us pick 3.

Can hardly complain about that.

It will be tough watching Chip play in the poo and wee next year. He was one of the few that rarely let us down.

He's had a fair few shocking games over the past few seasons, the Bulldogs game jumps to mind. It's better for both parties that chip left. It was frustrating watching him jog around this year. I do not blame him for leaving, we've been shite for such a long time, who knows how long till we turn the corner.

You mean the game where he kept Liam Jones to one possession in the first 3 quarters??? I agree he went through the motions at times this year but he was far from our worst.

Everyone tries to rewrite history, chip played very well for most of the season, up until round 17 he was in the top 8 very week, he would average 8 marks a game, but around round 17 he turned off, I hate people who change history.

Chip turned off after Round 2. Then he played as a forward which is not his job.

That is the reality.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
