Mitch Robinson - Delisted FA?

Another coup for the Brisbane Lions.

They've just recruited a player with half Stef Martin's IQ

Ah careful, Stef Martin got a high enter! Try saying recruiting a player with 1/10th Stef Martins IQ and you will be closer to the truth!

Carlton supporting friends and family mean I'm exposed to a lot of their games and a lot of the talk and reviewing of their players.

Long story short. He's adequate.

Not a huge number of possessions, not a huge share of them contested. Not an outstanding number of tackles.

He also led the Blues for clangers-per-game, by a considerable margin.

Pass. Not what we need and not very good anyway.

Yeah they must be gutted they picked up the competition's best performed ruckman over the second half of the year.

The Lions will make the 8 next year.

They have been getting it right since Lethal rejoined them.

Yep.

Meanwhile we will be probably battling bottom 4 usual. Brisbane and Port have shown what drafting the right players could do.

Look for St Kilda to make huge improvement next year aswell.

I dont reckon the aints will improve.

Carlton will slide.

Dogs down.

We may finish above a couple more teams next go.

Adelaide will slip backwards too.

How will Brisbane make the 8 with no backline and no forward line? Their best forward is a midfielder for crying out loud.

Personally, I think we need a few hard nuts. The best melbourne sides in the last 20 years have all had thrm, by which I mean finals sides: Biffen, Grinter, Pickett, Neitz, Whelan, we don't have the fear factor, however much we recruit sublimely talented athletes. Robinson is the closest to this in the draft. We should get him.

Nup he hasn't and never will learn, just the sort of bloke who although can play has massive side issues that will detract from the team values.

Don't forget he belted Ro Bail in an "Off the ball" incident and was lucky to have only got 3 -4 weeks for it ! Nup keep well away fro this club!

What we need is grunt with a bit of class.

Agree with this.

Dont think hes that much of a bloke or player.

BUUUUUUUUUUUUT, At 1/2 time when he has blood spewing out of his head and tells the doc to GAGF im playing the 2nd half.

Thats what we aint had for a long time.A brainless go getter that sets an example.

So Robinson has been officially picked up by Brisbane.

The Lions have a habit of picking up dick heads, Lawrence, Heuskes, Fevola now Robinson.

The former three were all failures one way or another and this moron will be no different.

Daniel Cross, Jones, Viney, hopefully Hogan. Nev Jetta doesn't take a backward step. I'm hoping Dean Kent starts throwing his weight around (with control). If Aidan Riley makes the grade he'll be physical enough. Dom Tyson copped a lot this year and never shirked it. And I'm hoping Max Gawn takes the ruck job and plays with his enthusiasm, but failing that he might be an ordinary football but Jake Spencer at times has looked a big strong SOB with some white line fever.

That's not enough talent to form a critical mass of really hard players, so yeah Robinson might've added toughness, but if he's always out of the side through stupidity and not helping us win through lack of talent I can understand us passing on him.

Recruiting Byron Pickett as an enforces was a complete waste. Guess it's time to see if Roosy can instill toughness to the group using the guys he's got.

Absolutely not. Viney is very young and inexperienced and has a teenager's body; Cross is experienced but his 34 yo body is slowing down and prone to injury; Riley I think is slow and no more than a filler, and a not very good one at that; and Jones, if you mean the captain as opposed to Matt, then he is our only bona fide A-grader. Hawthorn has 10 plus a-grader mid fielders. We have a long way to go. Robertson is a mature bodied, mature age recruit, and would have been a good acquisition.

As it turns out I understand he is off to Brisbane. Maybe there are some hard bodied types in the PSD. We need some tough nuts. I can't name any in the line up like the ones I listed above.

Teenagers body? What absolute crock [censored]. I have seen Viney dive in head first into a pack and clean some one up along the way. He is as tough as they come and in comparison to a young joel selwood. Teenage body LOL.

And again seriously if your going to be critical of someone at least do your research first. Cross is 31 years old and potentially has two years left in him. He played with a broken leg FFS.

Watch the way Riley tackles someone. He doesn't just tackle he spearnright into the ground. Again I hqve seen him do what Viney does. He also is tough as they come and doesn't take a backward step.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
