Jack Trengove re-injures his navicular (2014) - trade deal off

Richmind came to us with the deal, we have asked trenners if he wants to go, if he does the deal gets done if not he stays and we move on. We have not shopped him they came to us and we asked him that is acceptable I think.

In saying that not sold on trenners and the pick.

Freaking disgusting. How is us throwing in pick 23 even required? Farce. Unless this leads to Dangerfield or equivalent star coming on board next its horrific.

if this is it, & it is something like P-2, 3, & 12 for Danger, for one body,,, then I've got a ONE Word Statement to wake the footy dept' UP ...........

Roos isn't just going to throw the bloke away. Seriously people, if we package 12 and 2 and get a bonafide gun how would you feel then?

Amazing, watts has shown just as much loyalty but if this happened to him most people would be over the moon!

Something big must be going down for Melbourne to entertain the idea.

Until we know what the club has in mind you can only judge this on the face of it and that is that it's a pretty ordinary deal.

Roos mustn't rate him at all.

He must rate him somewhat if he thinks we can get pick 12 for him.

IF...

Remember, this all began from a Herald Sun rumour.

Where you getting this from Cards? Pretty important to how most supporters perceive his potential move.

If this isn't a part of a wunderdeal I'll be [censored]. I thought we weren't going to go back to the draft to fix this team. Let's hope Roos is the Messiah and not a Naughty Boy :P

Not happy at all with the proposed deal, I think he's got more upside than him + 23 for pick 12.

I confess I am a fan of his but it's an absolute no from me.

Great! This bombshell lands after COB and Roos is off to Hawaii apparently! Hope there is something on our website soon.

Time for a red to drown my sorrow :(

Cheers Barry.

A pretty good argument as to why this trade would be folly. That year we went in with picks 1, 2 and 11 and look where it got us. This year we're going in with 2, 3 and 12.

Yes to all the above....BUT HE IS SLOW & has almost ZERO acceleration....Cold Hard Facts.

Can you picture Trengove playing in the midfield in late September?

Sadly i cannot....& i want to see that Cup(s)

Sewell and Mitchell say hi.

Im not really sure how I feel as I think he has really backed the club through some shi tty times and he was out captain.

This was from the Fox sports article, maybe I've read to much into it that he has last say but it also stated he has toured punt rd:

"Richmond came to us with a potential deal, Jack is aware of this and all parties will now take some time to consider our options."

Interesting theories regarding possible strategies being employed by Roos & co, but could it be simply a situation where Roos does not want to have on his list anybody who is even remotely 'doubtful' from an injury point of view.

The 2 'shocks' that we have encountered this Trade Period are Mitch and Trenners.

Both are coming back from serious foot injuries that history tells us layers do not always recover fully from.

Perhaps Roos' view is "if in doubt, throw them out".

Definitely harsh, but let's not underestimate the depths of Roos' embarrassment at some of our woefully inept late-season performances.

He will NOT want to see anything remotely like that in 2015.

Based on his form over the last 3 years we win in that deal.

Based on his potential if his foot is right we could lose big out of it if looked at in isolation.

If it is part of a bigger deal as part of our overall strategy I am willing to wait and see how it plays out.

I am also accepting that if he leaves, like Clark we lose nothing on this year as he didn't play really at all.

Trengove has been sub par since 2011.......that is 4 years (88 Games....)

If you're trying to say since he had a "good" year, it would be 3 years (66 games).

Although his ability to impact games was certainly affected, the perception that he went from hero to zero is a bit misplaced- his average disposals per game decreased by less than 3 from 2011 to 2012.

FWIW, maybe Danger has never forgiven Trenners, and the trade is a condition of him joining the Demons.

Initial feel is not happy, but when I think about it more, what are the odds of him making a full recovery, health and form wise?

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
