Could be something there, but he's still a good two years off..... At least!

His game against essendon (I think) where he played hslf back and got around 15 disposals was good. He needs to be thrust into the action, i think he gets lost otherwise.

He's the next Weetra. Never should of got a new contract.

He looked absolutely terrified of taking the hit that physical contact in the afl requires.

Neat disposal is encouraging, and I trust Roos and co to develop him as hopefully a speedy mid who can be the link player a la the Hills for Hawks and Freo.

Has a lot of work to do.

Hope he can make it but to date I have seen no evidence he will. He is a mile behind JKH.

You have my vote Redleg So far behind he cannot hear the band.

Dumb decision to re-contract so early in the season, and even dumber decision to give him two years. I don't see anything resembling an AFL player, and am not even convinced he is a decent VFL player. Why he was gifted games when guys like Toumpas were treated so harshly is beyond me. Just another highly speculative project player for us waste oodles of time and resources on before we delist in due course.

Very lucky to get another contract, has shown SFA even at VFL level.

This is simply not true. He showed an ability to play a role, which was the basis for his promotion to the senior side.

The readiness to put a line through players is getting silly. Let's just see how he develps next season.

Yeah fair enough, went OK in the tagger role, but barely got the ball himself. Taggers need to do more than that..

I may be alone here but I see some potential in this kid. He can play a role and has a good natural mixture of speed and stamina. His kicking is a lot better than many others on our list and maybe Roos sees a little bit of (Sydney's Jetta). A 2 year deal was probably excessive

everyone just bags our new players unless they are starring.

how many new players at the Cats, Hawks, Swans don't come through straight away? plenty.

Go see what Will Langford did on Saturday to look at what faith in players can do. Would any of you taken Langford 2 years ago?

This kid has shown good signs he is coachable and can do a role.

Hawthorn are in a grand final and you could name 6 'average' players if you look at them individually, but they perform a role for the team.

I am far from an expert, but I haven't seen the hype in Dom yet. Roos must see something many of us don't see, and I hope that something is something special. A 2 year deal suggests there is great scope for improvement. If they were a little unsure then they would have inked him for one year, not two. Two years is a great leap of faith from the club. I am really unsure of Dom, and just can't see the potential yet.

So you guys (and others) know a lot more than Roos then ??

That's a fairly weak and easy argument when attacking someone's opinion.

I think coming into his 3rd year, Roos and co will have an expectation he start to fullfill his potential and become a senior player. would like to see him get 10 plus game and start getting more of the ball,

Yup, because the opinion he was 'attacking' was so well formed and thought out. Give me a break.

Lot of people laying in the boots here. Maybe he was given a 2 year deal because he is 20, has outstanding athletic qualities (that rare mix of endurance and speed), can hit a target, can play a role and is coachable. Maybe he was played as a tagger on some of the best outside mids in the competition to give him a taste of what he needs to do to be the best?

Has shown SFA according to who? He had some very solid performances in the VFL.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
