When did you hear it?

If you are Bernie Vince, hi, and I think your excellent :)

Lol, I'm still giggling at this post.

Fwiw buying a house down the coast doesn't really mean much when it comes to picking a club. I have a house in the city and one in barwon heads. You can have both. If he bought one in WA or Qld that changes things.

You're referring to "basketball reasons", one of the biggest disgraces in US sports history, and an absolute stain on Stern's legacy. All New Orleans were able to achieve with the trade with the Clippers was helping them become the worst team in the league and earn the #1 pick as mediocrity is death in the NBA. It was less about getting New Orleans good players (the Lakers were sending them all-stars Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom as part of the deal), but pandering to whining owners lamenting that the Lakers had been able to pull off another major deal just after the lockout ended. If that slop ever happened here I'd be filthy.

Importantly, NBA teams are privately owned. New Orleans at the time couldn't attract an owner, so the league was looking after them. Lakers coach Phil Jackson expressed concern over their conflict of interest 12 months before the nixed trade, to no avail. So it's a murky situation that is unlikely to be repeated.

Hang on a second, pants. Stern was rubbish and the ownership situation over there is pure evil but the fact remains that the Lakers were about to get another superstar and the NBA stepped in and made a decision that has rejuvenated Basketball on the West Coast and the NBA in general.

A good competition is predicated on the rise AND fall of teams from year to year.

The AFL has seen a couple rise of late but the other side of that coin is the fall of some clubs that won't fall if they continue to be allowed to recruit the best players.

It says we are 'yet to officially offer him a contract'. I was under the impression we can't officially offer anything until trade week anyway?

Your point is?

Here's the cheque book Paddy, you fill it in and well will do the paperwork later. That's not an official offer, It is a statement of intent.

My point is that that is an unnecessary observation.

We've spoken to Dangerfield and basically offered him an open check book.

Sadly, he just doesn't want to come to MFC.

The End

Change your name to Party Pooper.

same as the rest of them $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Who are 'the rest of them'!! From recent experience players go to successful clubs for less/not much more money or poor clubs for more money. The only one that has come to us is Mitch Clark and that didn't work out too well.

To me if he wants out there are only three clubs that will be in any position to offer Adelaide what they would want.

St Kilda Pick 1 and most likely second round pick

Melbourne Pick 2 and second round pick or Pick 2 and Three(based on MFC getting this) and a swap of later picks for Danger and Crows first round pick

Western Bulldogs Pick 5 and 6(based on getting this pick for Higgins) and swap of picks later in the draft

All three clubs have the money, it would be just getting him to commit. Once he does any of these three clubs will be able to meet Adelaides needs

Pick 6 compo for Higgins? Good god.

I reckon Bulldog supporters are saying pick 3 for Frawley Good God

I dare to say Bulldog supporters will be extremely upset if we get Pick 3 and they get a mid 20 pick or worse for Higgins. Ward V Scully still burns them

A bit different. Higgins has been a fringe player for them, Frawley is an AA KPP. Let them say what they like and lets see what deal is thrown up to Higgins.

I don't think even the most optimistic Dogs supporter thinks pick 6 is coming their way for Higgins. He;s been in and out of their side this year, and few are more injury prone than him. Meanwhile Frawley is a durable AA KPD in his prime.

Hahahahahah Higgins - has that guy ever been relevant?

Soft as butter, injury prone one-way runner with a career average of 18 possessions per game.

Pick 6 :)

Higgins can't get a pick 6 for the Dogs. The decision is based on age, length of contract, and $ in contract. Higgins is a couple of years older than Chip and is likely to get a 3 year deal, 4 years max.....similar to Bernie Vince, for whom we got a 2nd round pick.

Giving Higgins four years would almost be as bad as drafting Lucas Cook.

Dawes, Clark, Ablett, Scully, Buddy, Goddard, Thomas, Judd, Betts and numerous others left their clubs for money. Money talks.

Just about every player has a price.

Dangerfield would have his price.

If we get Treloar I will flip out. One of my favourite players in the AFL. Absolute gun.

Younger than Danger too, and less susceptible to injury.

Again with the nonsense claim that Dangerfield is susceptible to injury, when it would take 15 seconds of research to learn that he's missed 6 games in 6 years.

Demonland is sometimes living proof that people are just wilfully ignorant.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie
