Patrick Dangerfield

It would be great if we could snare Dangerfield, and then use him for depth, just in case a Terlich or Matty Jones get injured.

Won't happen. Our run with injury and player management recently has been superb.

What was the Veale deal? I cant remember, he played for the bulldogs didn't he?

Can't remember exactly, but our own Jade Rawlings wanted to go to North, Bulldogs had first pick in the PSD, so they sent an early pick or similar (bit I can't recall) to Hawthorn for Lochlan Veale, who was a consummate spud, and in return the Hawks didn't trade him to North, forced him into the PSD where the dogs were waiting.

Rawlings kicked 7 on debut for the Dogs then did very little after that. He even ended up at North a few years later. Hawthorn on-traded pick 6 for Danny Jacobs who played 45 forgettable games for them, while pick 6 ended up being used on Kepler Bradley! There weren't any major winners from the Veale deal and it must have been pretty embarrassing for the kid.

Hilarious to Connors imploring the Crows to accept a compo pick.

I think I've said it before, but those claiming that talks between Adelaide & Geelong are "amicable" also happen to be those that have an interest in a quick, cheap & easy transition for Danger; those being Danger himself, Connors and Geelong.

It's far from a done deal.

Unless Adelaide accepts compo, Danger could really end up anywhere.

how many first round picks are Geelong going to need

I know its early , but if crows match the offer you would think Geelong would have to give up 2 first round picks

and Carlton want one for Henderson too

from afl.com.au

Henderson wants to get to Geelong during the NAB AFL Trade Period and the Cats are keen to come to an agreement with Carlton.

Complicating the issue are negotiations to secure restricted free agent Patrick Dangerfield, with the Cats – whose first pick is No.9 overall – possibly needing to trade for the superstar midfielder if Adelaide matches their offer.

But McKay said Carlton was eyeing another first-round pick for Henderson

Cant we just run an automated search and replace with the next A-grade player's name who becomes "available", and save ourselves from repeating another 168 pages of wishful thinking?

We could still do a trade with Geelong.

Terlick and our 3rd rounder for Dangerfield and their 4th rounder, waddayathink?

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
