Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

GOODBYE MITCH CLARK

Travis obviously has a doppelganger who everyone seems to be confusing for the guy that actually plays footy

From the FB news item:

Lynden Jerkle Dunn: Some of the comments on here are sickening! It is disappointing that Mitch will be pursuing his AFL career at another club and yes I too am a little disgruntled at the decision. In saying that, I wouldn't wish what happened to Mitch and happens to so many others day in and day out upon anybody. I'm so glad he is well enough to try and pursue his dream of playing footy at the elite level and I will always think of him as a mate. Some comments especially from some demon faithful are distasteful and cowardly but I suppose so long as the few "Keyboard Warriors" have there say and hide behind there screens then life will go on. All the best brother!

26 isn't bad for a guy with a bit of toe.

I think he had injury problems this year and wasn't quite right, but his best is very good.

26 is a lot younger than I was thinking, he could be around for a few years... This could be a good trade for us...

No mate!

Absolutely my favourite time of the year. No actual games to destroy our moods.

Have no interest in posting for 11 months of the year any more - just October.

Guess that makes me the new Nudge

Who was the journo you sucked in with the Morton stuff a couple of years ago?

Too old: Bartel, Enright, Mackie, Kelly, Rivers, Lonergan, SJ, McIntosh, Stokes

Too good: Taylor, Hawkins, Selwood, Motlop, Christensen, Caddy, Duncan, Guthrie

Too injured: Cowan, Menzel, Vardy

Too drunk: Dawson Simpson

Too delisted: Sheringham, Burbury, Stringer, Schroder

Too young and important: J. Kolodjashnij, Lang, Hartman, Jansen, Thurlow, Hambling. Blicavs

Probably Available: Mitch Brown, Varcoe, Smedts, T Hunt

Possibles: Murdoch, Horlin-Smith, Walker, Bews, McCarthy

Blicavs is the player I would be going for. He is a lot like Jimmy Stynes, but will only be really valuable if played in the ruck. (And yes I watched the North final where he was killed by Goldstein but I think he will improve.)

I would offer up Clark and a downgrade in our second rounder. Or Blicavs and Varcoe/Walker for Clark and #23.

Clark offers heaps to Geelong.

A forward line of Hawkins and Clark would be unstoppable.

Someone here said that Clark, when firing, can literally 'rag doll' opposition defences.

This is the best description I've heard. It's spot on.

Clark leaving us is hard to take. He is a seriously good player.

And the trade we negotiate must reflect this.

Another absolute heartache in a long list of disappointments and bitter letdowns that is the life of a Melbourne supporter.

Love the talk about how we shouldn't take players just because they aren't in Geelong's best 22.

Newsflash, people. We aren't Geelong.

News flash, Clark will be comfortably in their 22, so we should expect compensation that is also comfortably in their 22. Edited by s-t-i-n-g-a

This is the first we've heard of a Melbourne player speaking honestly about the situation and responding to the thoughts of the Melbourne fans. It's actually really good to hear from a long time Dees player, especially one that at times has copped ridicule from the supporters (and I regret to say myself included).

This reminds us that we are looking at this from the outside in, with probably 10% of the information. At the end of the day those two have gone out on the field, and bruised and bled together, that sort of a mateship can't be under estimated. His comment of him being disgruntled also points that the players too feel frustrated by this, but he's not letting that emotion get the better of him. I agree with Dunny that some of the comments made about him are disgusting and likely so far off the mark it's not funny.

I don't know if I'm at a stage where I can wish Mitch all the best, but if nothing else it should be taken on board by the fans that Lynden does.

he won't be so accomodating when he is playing against Hawkins & Clark in a backline.

Clark will probably get a well guarded and "claused" contract for 2y in my estimation.Clark plays a dozen games in that period before breaking down again. This is also what Geelong might be expecting. Dont' expect them to throw any babies out with the bathwater as they say..

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
