Cannot alter the fact he never played another game Nasher.

Paint it any way you want bb was correct

forgive me for not bothering to trawl through ancient posts, but I recall most people saying he'd never play for us did so because injury would end him, not that he'd go to another club. Happy to stand or sit corrected.

In any case, the general proposition is true - predict the worst and if it comes off (and with MFC the odds are good) say you are a prophet. If it doesn't, join in the general rejoicing and hope no one recalls your prediction.

Im glad a lot of ppl here dont make business decisions on my behalf.

So they better control of the spin and bull?

They never signed up to the Telstra deal in the first instance. But yes they can control it. Quite smart really.

Clark should be well and truly over his foot injury, he has had extra time to recover so that part of him should be good for awhile at least, proper training and management should see his hammies and other soft tissue injuries reduced or managed. His skill and desire to win the ball will still be a major asset to where ever he goes, unfortunately we will not get anywhere near his value should his return be successful. While there is the theory that we are lucky to get anything for him it has to be remembered that if he had been more honest with us we would not have written him off 8 months ago.

I heard rumours a long time ago about Clark, but I just find it hard to believe that the club wants him out so badly if he was training with Dave Misson.

That's what is throwing me. He was training under our supervision. That would not have happened there was an incident the sort some are alluding to.

I am more of the view that this blew up only recently. He was made to feel unwelcome and has looked around.

They're practically doing cartwheels on the BF Geelong board at the thought of Hawkins teaming up with Clark, yet scoffing at the suggestion of Varcoe as a trade, who isn't even in their best 22.

That would perhaps also explain Viney's comments a week or so back when he told a poster here that we still want Clark but its complicated...

incorrect.

they've been part of the afl digital rights deal for the life of the current contract.

Aspects of it yes. And they get content from the Telstra/AFL deal. But you are wrong - they controlled their own website at least until about 18mths ago - not sure since then.

I am happy that the club has maintained it's integrity, that's important, we helped the deadbeat out, and for gratitude we got it in the back.

Trade Clark to the Cows as a part of the Dangerfield trade. Just like North did with Carey, if Clark was not depressed or was being possum about his Depression. He would be a sad panda by the end of it. I'd like to see moody art house photos of Church's and the soon to be closed down Holden plant!

If we would rather get nothing for the guy, I would punt him and his Cannon E0S1 into the draft and hope Brisbane pick him up. That would be nice.

Jay Clark on Twitter says Cats reckon a second or third rounder should suffice in a trade. I'll take the second rounder and use it on another player like Lumumba. Best we will get out of it I think.

I love the respect for us. Poach our player. Then before even discussing a trade, state publicly what you think we should get. Wonderful.

Play hardball Dees.

Amen!

Geelong are no fools. They would have put Clark through a physical and mental medical tests and they must be confident he's good to go.

How sickening it will be watching him kick bags next year, while all we get in return is a second or third round pick for this lying scumbag, who has wasted our money, time and resources for 2 years.

Does a journo tweeting what he believes the Cats think really count as "stating publicly"?

Depression or not, Mitch Clarke has been shown to be only interested in one thing. MONEY and lots of it. How else could you explain his 11th hour about face when he and management were adamant it was the West or Bust!

We offered him the world, he took it and then some, as well as us putting in countless hours, personnel, expertise and all that come with player welfare to get him right!

This is how he rewards our best and most professional efforts!

His integrity sits roughly between zero and below!

If I were Melbourne I would play the hardest ball possible to ensure WE get what WE want and DESERVE outa this whole mess!

Sorry Moneyhungry, you go where we say you go!

Varcoe played 23 games this year in a side that finished only % off top spot after the H&A season?

Brett Anderson just mentioned on SEN that this could be the first deal done on Monday morning.

Varcoe's no champion but this year he averaged 15 disposals a game and played 23 games. He's a pretty good ball user with pace and is a fair upgrade on Bail, Salem, Kent, M Jones and a few others that were regulars on flanks for us this year.

On SEN, The Ox believes Clark may be a straight swap for Travis Varcoe - outside speed with some polish. Thoughts?

Thoughts?

Get it done now!

Varcoe is a bit meh, but he did show some good signs at the tail end of the season. I think it's about as good as we can hope for. I'd be just as happy with a pick to give to Collingwood.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
