Disagree on Michie. Joeboy got it right. Rarely hurt opposition. Watched him pretty closely and he used the wrong option several times. He ignored a team mate on his own and went to the contest where we lost possession.

I think Fitzy did a decent enough job, his output equaled or bettered Frawleys of late when he played forward. The problem with the talls was the delivery and the lack of crumbers, I dont know where kent was playing during the game but I hardly sighted him doing anything creative. Bail was at least having a go,

Ready to be shouted down but Fitzy is a real talent IMO. He's a presence up forward and with a strong midfield pumping it forward he'd be an asset. I know he is sometimes awkward but he scatters packs when on.

I just hoped they would leave him in. He is the type who will try to take the game on (like that both his goals) but lacks the self confidence to go for it at times.

A 200cm player with genuine pace & a goal kicker - must be a spot for him in our lot.

Over who though? He isn't a backman and, at AFL level, he isn't really a ruckman either. The forward line is his only option, and at the moment he is well and truly behind Dawes, Hogan, Jamar, Pedersen and Gawn. And we won't play all of those 5 each week either. He either REALLY lifts his game or gets sick of playing in the magoos and asks to be traded.

Not much I guess, but clearly he is about 6th in line with a fit squad to pick from. He kicked two goals last night and did okay but earlier in the season, when the heat was really on, he couldn't get anywhere near it. When he played last year the heat was also off - I just don't think he is as good as some think he really is. Plus he doesn't have the ability to play elsewhere like others do, which leaves him further behind the pack.

I would of traded him at the end of last year when he was in a purple patch of form to say the dogs? For a midfielder or two?

Wiseblood, how did Dawes go in the same game? Jamar is nearer the end than the start of his career and Gawn is primarily a ruck prospect. The biggest problem I see is that he is part of a revolving door policy which doesn't allow big fellas to settle.

In short, he's the type of player that would bite us in the arse if we were to let him go. see Stefan Martin.

Wiseblood, how did Dawes go in the same game? Jamar is nearer the end than the start of his career and Gawn is primarily a ruck prospect. The biggest problem I see is that he is part of a revolving door policy which doesn't allow big fellas to settle.

Dawes has been poor in the second half of this season and I wouldn't dispute that for a second. However he is still miles ahead of Fitzpatrick due to his experience and leadership on the field (note that I have not included consistency and overall ability there). Realistically the bloke won't be dropped unless he has 3 zero disposal games in a row. Just can't see it happening. Gawn is a ruck prospect but they have gone with Pedersen as the pinch hitter when Jamar doesn't play as well or vice versa, and that's over Fitzy who is taller than Pedersen.

Gawn and Fitzy, to me, are the only ones who can be classified as not being given enough time to settle, so claiming it's a 'revolving door policy' is a bit over the top.

Hogan is probably the only one I rate out of these and he hasn't played a game yet.

Jamar has a year to run and then he's gone, worth keeping around for experience and Gawn is a future ruckman, can spend minimal time forward. We can't rely on him to be a goal kicker, he will get the occasional.

Whilst we are relying on Dawes, Pederson, Jamar, Gawn and Fitz to kick a score we are going nowhere and I don't buy the story of poor delivery. I know it's not great but they also have to have something to kick to, statues with iron gloves....

Fitz doesn't mark overhead, Dawes can't catch a cold, Jamar and Gawn are ruckmen, Frawley wants out and isn't a forwards a....hole and Pedders is purely a depth player.
