GAMEDAY - Round 13

Recommended Posts

Every decision these umpires make is terrible!

Midfield is getting smashed. They look much better around clearances.

Our ordinary players are getting exposed for what they are. Ordinary!

Regulation five-goal win to the Bombers

Well that's the closest thing I've seen to Neeld-footy this year. Even including Round 2. It's an absolute miracle we're only down by 20. Thank some great defending and some very wasteful Bombers in front of goal. Very disappointing.

game is 100% over

Hahaha you're kidding.. it's three goals, still another half to play

that's close to the worst half we have had all year and they are only 21 points up, that's only a good 10 minutes

I think Paul might be having a quiet (not ) chat to a few.

Hoping for the "other" Melbourne to take the ground this next half

Just not working hard enough at the moment, where as Essendon want it badly. Simple as that.

This team is great at being not all that great. Defend well but break down and simply refuse to take the game on. I understand the defensive mindset, but is there really such a lack of talent that they can't score more? They get the space but then fluff the kick, kick it inwards, kick it above a short player, or all of the above. It's frustrating to watch. Awful.

And yet, still in it. Amazing.

The plan only works if you come swithced on and they are certainly not switched on today, they stemmed the tide for a bit there just through the structure but the dam walls can only hold for so long. The boys better ome out with a better attitude and greater intent in the second half or we are looking at a 6-8 goal loss

Melbourne's future is Viney< NJones skipper, Grimes NOT, Jessie Hogan. We carry a glut of ineffective mids. Bail's another. While he occasionally breaks out and kicks a goal it's no where near enough. Viney's GUTS is good to see if little else at this early stage. He will get much better. Matt Jones. He's a mystery. Plays each week and gets a whole lot of the ball but never damaging. Similar to a Cotchin type but not in the same class. Most of our forwards give the impression they're scared of a goal.

Any more Farmers, Jurrahs or Davey's out there??

Classic Sunday twilight enjoyment.

There's just something so annoying about Bombers supporters.

We are making it so easy for them to mock how very very bad we are.

I'm glad Hogan isn't playing yet, the zero run and delivery through the middle would surely crush his spirit.

Trouble is we only score 3 - 5 goals a game.

Exactly right. It's all well and good stopping a team from kicking a high score but we have to score ourselves, and we can't. I honestly feel like the plan is to restrict the opposition scoring then work on scoring ourselves sometime down the track. As if we're working on one thing at a time.

Hope this makes sense. Im on pain killers, flu meds and using beer and red to wash them down. It also makes watching the game easier.

I'm off to watch a movie with the missus, will check back later but expect a 10 goal loss and essendon to be praised in the media about how mentally tough they are, it is gonna make me sick bunch of cheats

What movie?

I can highly recommend "The trip to Italy"

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
