Selection for Port Adelaide

Matt Jones is No chance of being dropped.

Jetta I think will come in at Toumpas expense as Nev has the speed to stay with Ports small forward's and always seems to relish playing up there.

Gawn I think should stay - his ruck work to Vince for the goal was a beautiful thing.

I thought Jones2 played very well, as he's done most of the year. Another of the clear improvers to date.

Frawley in for Dawes.

If Jones junior isn't born early then We'll need to replace him, so Kent or Jetta to come in.

Other than that no change.

Is there a doctor in the house?

Induce the future father son this week.

Snowflake's chance in hell Matt Jones will be dropped.

I'd love to see Kent back in the team, possibly for Salem to let him get some touches in the VFL.

Seems some on here don't quite get how highly valued Matt Jones is by the coaches. His work rate in providing run and linking from half back is singular in this team, and it's very hard to remember when he didn't come away with the pill in a 'one on one' contest. He is the kind of competitor and role player that PR loves. Yes, he can turn it over, but this is a diminishing weakness, and matters much less than his qualities. However, that appears to be all some see.

What do we do with Grimes?

He was very poor yesterday, almost a liability.

Wish he could put a bit more weight on. He gets pushed aside to easily.

Not according to Roos - he was one of our best.

I would definitely not drop Riley. He was not subbed out due to poor performance. Like any other player coming off a serious injury he is being managed. Give him a fair go.

I'd probably be looking at giving Salem a rest, but i wouldnt argue if he stayed in the team.

In: Frawley, Michie

out: Dawes, Salem

Toumpas looked ok on the weekend, worked his way into it. I'd give him another game, but also wouldnt be surprised if he went back to the two's. If so, i'd bring Kent in

Jones said his wife is only 34 weeks along. Unfortunately she's unlikely to go early. First pregnancies rarely do, so he's definitely in this week.

Let's hope the baby comes mid week... And that the ultrasound was wrong and it's a boy (it can happen!)

FB: Garland Dunn Jetta

HB: Grimes McDonald Howe

C: M. Jones N. Jones Vince

HF: Riley Pedersen Watts

FF: JKH Gawn Frawley

Foll: Jamar Cross Tyson

Int: Bail, Terlich, Viney
S: Toumpas

Out: Salem, Dawes

In: Jetta, Frawley

Frawley for Dawes is straightforward if Frawley is fit. Think Salem needs full games at Casey to develop his match fitness and make sure he's not over exposed. Don't like having both Salem and JKH starting because we might be short of run. JKH deserves to start games. Salem is wasted as the sub, he's had enough goes as sub. Toumpas becomes the sub. Jetta comes back in. I'm not convinced on Aidan Riley just yet. I don't know if he can run out a full game (yet alone against Port) but the reality is we wont know until he tries. He did play reasonably well and was hard and tough as advertised. I've got memories of him in (late) preseason blowing up doing 300m sprints with Viney and doing a lot of walking and low speed running to build up fitness. But I'm hoping the time spent at Casey built his footy fitness.

It wasn't a joke.

So you think that everyone here thinks I know nothing?

Other than your best bud Ben Hur, I don't think you would find a sane individual on here to agree with you.

If you have a problem, PM me.

Or just suck it up and keep it to yourself.

frawley for dawes- pretty straight forward

toumpas for jetta- there but for a case of the trots, jimmy wasn't quite significant enough to hold the spot

salem for evans- kent/michie/mckenzie stiff. evans is a good runner who can play through the mids and kick goals

i don't think salem or toump played particularly badly but they did seem to contribute less than others and there have been some massive efforts for casey lately which deserve reward

Was going to comment and got a headache trying to figure it out. So give up lol.

Why would you rest Salem ? I wouldnt thought he needs it, specially with the bye.

Jetta to come back in but for whom ? tough one.

Frawley in for the suspended Dawes is the only one I can think of.

Everyone is contributing, so going to be interesting to see.

Roos is clearly in the mindset of making as few unforced changes as possible - however, Jetta lost his spot through illness, he had earned that spot and deserves it back

don't know why everyone wants to drop Salem and Toomp though, I would have thought pigdog would be the appropriate victim

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
