  1. Matt Jones - frustrates me that he won't back himself when running into goal. Collingwood showed the importance of speedy half back flankers who can break the lines. This makes Grimes' current role questionable and opens the door for Blease - if he can show something at Casey. I'm a Dawes fan but he was very disappointing yesterday. Destroyed by a kid.
  2. There are going to be some interesting decisions for our next round. Frawley has to come back. Who for? I would think Gawn is a keeper. Does he go back into defence for Terlich? What about Jetta? Does he come back in? Again, for whom?
  3. That's what we've been waiting for Jack. Let's hope this is your breakout game and you go on and have a great career.
  4. Jack Watts - has been full of running in the last quarter, this week and last. Looks like he may be a player after all.
  5. Jones - what a game! Pedo - what a pleasant surprise! Viney and Tyson - what great young players! Roos - what a coach!
  6. I too enjoyed the game. Yeah we lost, but the endeavour was great and that's all that can be asked. It's certainly got value to keep the same team together and I would not imagine too many changes. Salem has to get a full game or go back to Casey. Kent has more upside than Byrnes, but did he play at Casey yesterday? I'd like to have a look at Riley - but I'm not sure who goes out. You can't beat class - Tyson has it in spades, When he gets clear and has a shot at goal - he doesn't miss. I'm afraid Matt Jones' misses in the last quarter cost us dearly.
  7. I think Dunn should go forward regardless of whether Garland comes in or not. The Frawley experiment has run it's course. If he is not injured, then he goes back and Dunn goes forward. If Frawley is injured, then Garland goes back and Dunn forward.
  8. Why isn't anybody talking about Bail? Watts, Terlich, Howe - I agree with what everyone is saying, but Bail was invisible. Three changes are about all that are due in a loss that was not terrible. Out: Bail, Watts, Georgiou (holiday). In: Riley, Garland, Clisby. Last chance: Howe, Byrnes, Terlich. Want to show something to press for selection: Strauss, Blease, Tapscott.
  9. As bad as Watts was at least one worse. Bail was unsighted. Byrnes almost unsighted.
  10. Dunn - after many frustrating years, he looks to have arrived as a player. Frawley - really looks good as a forward. Surprised at how fast he looks up there.
  11. N.Jones- tough and effective - yes Grimes - captain stood up - gutsy, needs to keep his feet Watts - bruise free game - won some contests, looking better Dawes - provided the target - yes Viney- tough and brave - yes Frawley - upped his status - why hasn't he played forward before? Dyson - was well held - took the tag, i like him McKenzie - tough in packs Dunn - effective all day Kent - some important plays Cross - the consummate professional Pederson - continued good form Vince - had little influence Kennedy - Harris - showed some flair McDonald - confident and important - heart in mouth when he kickc Evans - made an impact Howe - far from convincing Bail - dashing and important - kicked straight, how about that? M.Jones - career best game Terlich - injured, no loss Georgiou - reliable and composed Spencer - fantastic second efforts
  12. I got very nervous looking at Josh Kelly today.
  13. Watts seemed to be showing some urgency in the contest. Byrnes - small and slow. Not a good mix. Kent - he looks OK to me. Has pace and has a go. Terlich - got caught twice at key times. Didn't look good. Spencer - like his endeavour but, when your opponent gets 60 hit outs, that's a disaster. Fitzpatrick - was he playing?
  14. Hi everyone. This is my first post. In the past three seasons we've had three coaches - Neeld, Craig and now Roos who have all had to coach the team to be "competitive." What is going on here? AFL footballers having to be coached to compete? I find this hard to comprehend. Can someone explain this to me?
