How did LRT get off hitting Georgiou?

How did Franklin get off for terrible acting? I couldn't knock that man over if I was driving a bulldozer, but Georgiou took him out with a mere touch.

What a joke, this one should have been thrown out. He grazed him while trying to knock Franklin's arm away from holding his jumper and Franklin hit the deck looking for a free then bounced back up instantly when it wasn't paid. Glad he can play on the weekend but it sucks he has this hanging over his head now for nothing.

should appeal, 93 points for that is garbage.

The match review made it low impact, which probably says what they thought of Buddy's fainting fit, but he did make contact and an unsuccessful appeal leaves him out for a week. Better to cop it sweet.

The whole system is a joke. Not a fan of carry over points. This is a perfect example of why the system is flawed. Edited by Al's Demons

franklin also staged when he got the free for his only goal. bloody joke should have been cited

Bastard should be suspended...he is a disgrace to the AFL....brings the game into disrepute in so many ways, which costs us and us only $500K. (Bumbers get rewarded with marquee games).

Oh, I forgot, the AFL Commission is dedicated to preserving the integrity of the game. Bloody joke.

They introduced a rule to penalise stagers....but absolutely zero integrity in it.

Joke.

A blight on the game

So if Georgio repeats the action, he misses a game. Two separate trivial incidents which don't warrant suspension by themselves have their powers combined to total x amount of points which warrants a player to miss games. I always wondered where the Pluck-a-duck wheel wound up.

Hard to prove that Franklin was staging because he did get a whack. Georgiou can look at it as a medal to pin on his chest and have a great conversation piece for the rest of his life. Many a laugh for the retelling of how Buddy fell like a sack of spuds.

I hope Georgiou appeals.

For one, it'll highlight the hilarious dive from Franklin.

We should bring a spotlight on it and make him look like an utter goose.

Secondly, for an accidental glancing blow where no harm was caused, this is an unfair punishment.

And thirdly, because I know the AFL tribunal won't throw it out, Georgiou will get suspended, and he'll be out of the team.

And not a minute too soon.

He is a liability. So bloody awkward that he is a danger to his teammates.

Anyone see McDonald win the footy, about to kick, and then Georgiou ran across his path?

T-Mac had to pull the kick, attempt a sidestep and then in the split-second it took him to reset for a clear kick, he was tackled and he turned it over.

Bloody Georgiou... Can't get him out of the side soon enough.

Can't believe this. Georgiou has not been beaten and has allowed Chip to go forward. One of the finds of the season and will be a fixture. He may be awkward but rarely turns it over - unlike many others in the side

Doesn't do anything with it though.

If you're not attacking and somewhat dangerous, you're making it easier on the opposition.

Like I said, he's a bloody liability and dangerous to his teammates.

Whack!! Try an unexpected touch, inadvertent contact to the face. Georgiou is very unlucky I think to get a similar finding to Gibsons full on hit from behind to the head. Reckless and high contact I think for Gibbo and should be similar to some of the bumps that have been judged to be too high but inadvertent.

By the way Machsy I reckon Georgiou is a positive, he has a real go. When you find a silky skilled half back to take his place let me know.

I may be alone, but I thought a reprimand was appropriate. I know it was unintentional and I agree Franklin's reaction was pathetic, none the less he made forceful contact with another player's head. I expect he'll be a little more careful where he swings his fist next time, and he learns the lesson without having to miss any games.

Anyway it would seem he has accepted the reprimand.

actually if he repeats it i think he loses 2 games

i.e. 93.75 + 125 = 218.75 with no discount = 2 weeks

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
