Debut him this week then.

Watt could go wrong.

Just remind me please - is Jetta only playing because JH is on the long term injury list?

When does the midseason exemption rule re promoting rookies come into effect?

It would be great, IF and when he has fully recovered, to see JH play at least a handful of games at the end of the season. Good for morale - his and ours.

Not quite sure, Mono, probably more in rpfc's realm of knowledge.

But I think Jetta playing might have something to do with Clark on the LTI list.

And as far as I'm aware it's round 11 you can promote a rookie.

Judd - leaves the club that made him captain and gave him a flag, for the money. Has the opportunity to captain the side he grew up loving. Takes dodgy salary cap loophole with the biggest scum in the comp instead.

Lets get some matters cleared up on this, Trevor Nesbit is cast from the same mould as the fat controller and somewhat like Schwaby in the all important brand and how the club appeals to the supporters/coterie. I would suggest Nesbitts task in a two horse town was somewhat easier than Schwabs but at the time of Meth Coast falling into media storm with Kerr's Ketamine and prescription matter, Gardy leaving the scene of an accident and Cousins being stripped of the captaincy for other matters they needed a good news story. Fast forward to 2008/09 when their club was in free fall after Cousins ban and they had thousands in uproar at them for deserting their favourite son in Cousins, lets give our new media circus recruit Nic Nat the number 9 it will all be good and they will forget Ben in time, it worked.

Juddy was a reluctant captain and those in the know in Perth are aware it was used by the board as some kind of leverage to try and have Judd commit to the club for another contract and to this day is still used by Meth Coast fans as a swipe at Judd as having no morals for being a captain who they believe deserted a sinking ship.

And as for the comment in the club that gave him a flag, FMD I would argue that he was the most vital cog in that club getting the final piece to their jigsaw in being able to make a flag achievable. Juddy played the entire last 2/3rd's of 2007 debilitated with a groin injury knowing he was leaving at years end and he gave everything right to the final loss in extra time to the Pies, I would say he gave everything to that club and whilst he ended up choosing Carlton for the money he was always going back to Melbourne

Jetta and Georgiou are both on the Primary List due to LTIs for Clark and Hogan.

I believe in a week the mid season Rookie upgrade is possible and that will allow both those players to remain in the Primary List even when Hogan comes back off the LTI. Remembering that 8 weeks is the minimum a player is on the LTI, the maximum being 24 (the season).

I am correct in remembering Georgiou went back to the rookie list because when Clark retired he was removed from the LTI.

Either way we have Trengove done for the year and as you mentioned the mid season promotion. So both Jetta and Georgiou wont have any problems being picked if they are in the best 22.

Good to see him up and running. Hopefully back into VFL for a game or two in a couple of weeks and then he's unleashed for the world to see!

I'd like to see a solid bit of training 3 to 4 games in the VFL and come in when he is ready so would not think before late July for mine

He'll get some running done then come back through the vfl. How many games he pays there is dependant on form. Take 10 marks, kick 6.2 and give 2 off in week one? He'll be in the AFL week 2.

3-4 weeks to get match fit

4-5 games at Casey.

5 games at AFL

Sounds reasonable.

Sounds reasonable, but not sure if it matches with the club's approach, which is more to do with careful than reasonable.

Fingers crossed, but Jesse is a long-term project, a couple of extra games this year aren't really going to change anything - though I accept it'd be a nice positive in selling the club to supporters.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
