Changes for Gold Coast Round 5

Make a statement - no changes

However - players I would like to see: Clisby, Strauss, Jamar, Blease.

Players in the spotlight: Evans, Georgiou, Terlich and Howe (will probably stay due to potential)

Maybe Garland for Terlich-that I'd like to see

I think Garland needs at minimum - 1 game at Casey. As Dawes said: match conditioning is huge and that's probably even more important in the backline.

The Suns are very quick. Under normal conditions I would be looking at Clisby but because of the Suns pace the only change I would make is Blease for Terlich. But this depends if Blease shows any defensive improvement for Casey.

I wouldn't have thought Georgiou would be in the gun unless Garland is going to come back and take that spot. Even then, I consider whether he couldn't stay in in Terlich's spot.

If Terlich is out it would be one of the best performed flanker/mids from tomorrow or Garlan if he is right. I still have a concern with only having one ruck, although I believe brining in another is a waste of a spot, unless they are a forward who can go into the ruck (which would be Gawn or Fitzpatrick).

What I'd really love to bring in is a gun half back flanker with serviceable defending, good speed and run, and great disposal and decision making. The play maker off the back flank role is currently being done by whoever has it, and if someone could really step up into that we'll be a long way further along in development!

If Garland is ready but Terlich is injured, then it takes away the need to make a tough decision. I can't see enough room for all of Garland, Georgiou, Pedersen, Howe and Terlich back there (in addition to "non-negotiables" McDonald and Grimes), but Col is easily the superior player of that lot so one will need to shift. None particularly deserve to go on recent form. I'd probably have dropped Georgiou with a heavy heart, or Terlich anyway.

As has already been said, all eyes to Casey now!

I would like to see Evans as the sub again, he came on with plenty of aggression and had some impact, I'd say no changes and I think Roos would agree. Good team effort yesterday but still heaps to improve on.

I guess the emergencys for the last couple of weeks are contenders to replaceTerlich, Blease Nicholson maybe Trenners but we need leg speed imo

I'll tell you one thing right now. Georgiou is not getting dropped.

Agree. I don't know why it's even being thought of.

Why is Georgiou getting dropped? The Blues barely got any marks inside fifty (that being said, they didn't have much to kick to).
Terlich has injured his hammy. I would say this change would come out of necessity.
I would like to say Col Garland but he might need another week at Casey to get his fitness up so it's probably Sammy Blease for mine (also because of the type of team the Suns are).

Georgiou was great again and the amazing thing is you wouldn't even know he was out there unless you were looking for him

He just does his job and he has been so good that we havent even missed Chip or Dunn back there

He is 0% chance of getting dropped and I bet Roos and the coaching staff love him

Terlich or Pedersen will be the odd man out once Garland is ready to return, though Ive liked Pedos work lately

I hope that a winning unit is not just tampered with for the sake of tampering with it from now on. In years gone by, and yes even in the Daniher years, we would play blokes because of who they were. From now on, if you want a spot in the 22, you need to be kicking the door down to get in.
True, some blokes deserve an instant recall but I'm thinking others and that means Jesse Hogan will have to earn their spot.

Can't understand the want to drop Georgiou, has allowed Chip and Dunn to play forward and is a defender who actually defends.

Not all backmen need to make an impact they just need to do their job and defend.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Brisbane

It's Game Day and the Dees are deep in the heart of enemy territory as they take on the Lions in Brisbane under the Friday Night Lights at the Gabba. Will the Demon finally be awakened and the season get back on track or will they meekly be sacrificed like lambs to the slaughter?

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.
