the missionary position isn't great for shoulders/pecs/upper body.

Yeah youd think their medicos would be onto that one and provide player Gibson with an alternate list of positions.

I'm bookmarking this post and will bump it about halfway through next season when Trengove is smashing it.

Since midway through 2011 he has been average at best if he was not captain during 2011 -2 he would have been dropped.

this year he was playing at Casey before his injury.

I am more than happy for you to remind me next year that he is playing well.

Who would drop from last week's team to fit him in?

Hypothetical counter to the fact. I wouldn't drop anyone from last week's team to fit in Trengove in a moon boot. Next year, different Trengove, different team.

This.

Trengove in his pre-injury form would be top 10 for mine.

BREAKING NEWS: unfortunately Daniel Cross will miss the next 4-6 weeks with a fractured leg. It happened late in the game against Nth Melb.

Posted

Also further breaking news: Shannon Byrnes looks set to miss the rest of the season with a foot injury, sustained in the VFL on the weekend.

Cross will be pizzed to miss the return doggies match....

Not half as pizzed as I am that he is out for up to 6......

Tough as nails....some serious body on line stuff in last two weeks.

The loss of Cross is gonna hurt us - he does a fantastic nullifying job.

Lost Cross and Jordie this week

Hopefully Griffen doesnt play for them cos we have no tagger now

Posted

Probably the end of Byrnes' career imo

agreed

Not sure he or club got out of each other what they would've liked

Damn!!! Cross will be really missed whilst he sits in the grand stands

So McKenzie (only this week) and Cross out for 4-6 weeks. Two of our taggers. Who to bring in to tag now?

Jones tagged Marc Murphy in the blues match I think, maybe he'll be used in that capacity again this week.

we might not need to worry to much this week, Griffen and Cooney both likely to miss and Gia also out, Libba and Mcrae the two who we could tag, maybe Nathan Jones gets Libba, and Vince gets Mcrae, the young fella will be all to aware of what Vince will do to the doggies if they don't keep him in check

they will prob tag tyson again i'd say

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
