The upside is that once we get all three of them playing together*, it will be all the sweeter.

*working on the assumption this ever [censored] happens.

Melb fc state "stress reaction".

And it depends on his response to treatment.

Estimated 2-3 weeks

We've all just had a pretty big stress reaction

Mahoney said early signs were positive.

If itwas really bad, he wouldnt uave even been considered to play hawks, yet he was named.

Im hoping for round three or four.

What I find slightly amusing is that in true Demonland fashion, when the club says "Early signs are positive and he could potentially still play in 2 to 3 weeks or it could be longer; we just need to monitor him closely over the initial period and then a timeframe for his return will become clearer.", most posters seem to miss the first few words "Early signs are positive..." and then read the worst into the remainder.

If he has been running since the game, then I think it would be fair to assume that he is not in too much discomfort and that the pain may well pass in the next couple of weeks, thus boding well for an earlier rather than later return.

Everyone's over reacting a tad

What if Cloke,Brown,Riewoldt,Buddy missed the first 4 games of their entire career?

Ease him back when he's ready and move forward!

lol, it's not that we ignore it, it's just that we've heard it so many times before from the club we know to filter it out as irrelevant.

Not nearly as bad as the original reports told us.

The standard of journalism is pathetic today.

Pure Swill is Barrett. He would have been hammered at school. You can just see it a mile off.

Tiny fool.

He just didn't look right to me during Training 26th Feb

"Pedo did his left hamstring (grade 1) and shouldn't play Friday. Hogan right low-back-buttock soreness, but continued on modified."

The fact that he then played a fair-dinkum game, and all of the sudden he has a back injury that might keep him out for a while.

Some think injuries are just bad luck.

I also had a surprisingly long chat to Roosy. Nice guy.

Best of all I met and had a great chat to my childhood hero, Robbie Flower. They say you should never meet them as you tend to walk away disappointed. I'm pleased to say it was the opposite. A fantastically friendly and engaging guy. It made my night.

Thanks to the generosity of a good friend at an auction a few months back, I'm lucky enough to have an MFC jumper signed by both Flower and Roos.

This friend, who knows Roos (not through football) speaks very highly of him as a person. He and his wife went through a terrible tragedy a number of years ago and Roos was incredibly supportive throughout their ordeal and beyond, despite coaching and all his other commitments.

I can't say I've ever spoken to Robbie at length, but on the occasions I did chat to him he always came across as humble and softly-spoken.

Didn't Riewoldt (Nick) miss his whole first year with a knee problem? Seems to have done alright since.

I'd say at least 4 weeks off the track and out of the gym, lots of time in the pool. After that it would probably take 3 or 4 weeks for him to be fit to play.

It's 2 week until round 1. If we can have him back safely and healthy by round 6 it will be a great result.

Thanks for the diagnosis and info It could be related to his growing body Lets all hope it is managed and a full recovery is possible

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
