Demons season opener v Saints

dee-luded

At least Old Dee. I am completely underwhelmed by him at the moment.

I am not exactly in love with him either jackaub.

By suggesting two years I was thinking it would take that long.

However if he spends the next two years at Casey he will be out of contract.

Would he be offered another?

I doubt it.

Or this decade.

Interesting Robbie I have the distinct feeling Both Dawes and Clark have legs that will no longer go the distance at AFL level.

Not there faults but none the less they are looking like very expensive flops.

Now watch them fall upon me.

OldDee you are always on a winner (despite barracking for the Dees). The comforting thing about making negative predictions is that when they turn out correct one can quietly boast about how prescient one was, and if wrong one can lose oneself in the general joy by saying how happy you were to be proved wrong.

Almost right sue.

The easy part with the MFC is that seldom are we (a) in the winners circle so you can predict losses with great accuracy and (b) if it can go wrong for the MFC it usually does.

Leaving that stuff aside tell me do you expect Dawes and Clark to be big contributors in 2014?

Old Dee I reckon Dawes will play about 7 games and will still have that calf injury by round 5 (de ja vu from last year) and Clark about 3 late season games after a couple of false starts at Casey.

Depressing stuff.

$1.3 million a year.

No idea. Don't have much information to go on. So I'm neither slitting my wrists nor buying my finals tickets. Will just have to wait & see.

Yet people arn't concerned if Dunn leaves even though he is durable as anything and probably dirt cheap in comparison.

It's the same deal for the saints though, if Roo doesn't kick a bag i can't see them kicking a winning score, and our midfield is going to be a fair bit stronger

That bloody Wilkes or Maister or whatever his name is will probably cause us headaches again.

You have a "distinct feeling".

Solid stuff.

Dave Mission just said that there is a good chance Hogan, Dawes, Jamar, Gawn and Taspcott are a chance to be right for round 1 and Clark and Garland are tracking well, some positive news if it's factual

So what he really said was that, it is possible that there is a possibility. Or in English, Not a hope in hell!

I significantly doubt any of them will play round 1.

Realistically the only two who are a chance are Gawn and Tappy as they are playing this week. And Gawn or Jamar aren't getting passed Spencer who's been ok without showing some solid form. Same with Tapscott he's not getting picked on the back off 1 VFL performance in which he's unlikely to play big minutes.

Can you realistically see them risking Dawes or Hogan without them proving their fitness in the VFL? Maybe Hogan but not unless he's had at least a couple of weeks of training which means he's ruled out as well. If Dawes and Hogan played in the VFL next week so they were fit for round 2 that would be a great result.

Nah i agree they will be conservative with both, even if what is said is true i reckon both will be round 2 at best because as you say no use taking a risk

I would be happier to see Dawes most of all on the park round 1, but you think he would start at casey as he has played what part of a game?

Yet to see anything from Dawes to get excited about in the red & blue. I'm hoping he will look better with Hogan / Clarke in the team, but until either of those two are back I really couldn't care less when he is set to play.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
