Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Yeah I'm hanging for a report to see who trained in the main group etc so we may have a idea of who plays Fri night.

I wonder if Clark will be running laps! Poor sod he must be bored shyteless.

I saw Mitch running the tan with two conditioning guys at a very solid pace yesterday, way faster than anyone else that was running the tan. It almost motivated me to walk a second lap. It was definitely an encouraging sign. He looks to be way past the "running laps faze", he was clearly putting in some hard yards.

I get the feeling the communication that is being put out about Mitch is to temper our expectations.

Clearly he is behind the eight ball in terms of his pre-season and the club is just making sure not to rush him and to get him 100% right which is the 100% right way of going about things.

Definitely no need to rush him.

He's way to good to risk. Just take your time and get yourself right.

I wonder what the 2nd conditioning guy does? a lot of 'hmmm I agree' I suppose.

His job is to yell:

2nd conditioning guy: 'what are your legs?'

Mitch Clark: 'Springs, steel springs'

2nd conditioning guy: 'What are they gonna do?'

Mitch Clark:'They're going to hurl me down the track.'

2nd conditioning guy: 'How fast can you run?'

Mitch Clark: 'As fast as a leopard'

That can't be right... yesterday was not an official training session and I am lead to believe by Demonland posters in the know, that Mitch is out and about with his camera at every opportunity... why on earth would he be running laps? Or... is it possible that I have been misinformed and that Mitch really does take his football seriously?

Mitch has moved up to GoPro and is capturing real life so he can vine himself for everyone to see his life in snippets.

I assume we've hired a conditioning guy for each leg. Thats how valuable he is to us. if one is better at his job than the other, then Mitch may end up running in circles.

In all seriousness, one is the fitness guy the other is the medical guy, obviously if he 'felt' something running around the tan, they want an on the spot analysis......I don't care if he runs with a masseur, a personal assistant, a meditation guru and a dietician as long as when he is ready he comes in and plays 15 or 16 games straight...........I actually like what we are doing with the players.....Riley having to now do a pre season....even though training watchers can see he is 'fully fit' now

Yep, but i was thinking of the early motivational use of the quoted dialogue. I had forgotten (until i just looked at a yo tube clip) that it was also used at the very (tragic) end. As Chook says blam! Lets hope Mitch has a better outcome!

Saty I think you need to follow along on a segway just to make sure he is on the mend.

Light training with a slippery ball. What I liked most was the exercise where the ball is cleared out of the back line by a group of 5 or 6 players running full tilt the length of the ground providing options. Very different from the past where, once a pass was completed, the player would stand with their hands on their hips getting their breath back.

Did not see Gawn, Garland, Tapscott, Dawes, Strauss...they might have been there but I didn't see them. Fair few skill errors but understandable given the ball was wet. I might have also mentioned that we seem to have a strategy that if a player is leading towards goal, the ball is put over their head so that they can run on and mark it. If, on the other hand the player is leading away from goal, the ball is put either on the chest or in front of the leading player so that they can at least have a chance of picking it up on the bounce. It must be so frustrating leading towards a player at full tilt and then to have the ball sail over your head to the advantage of the defender.

Friday will be interesting.

I'm actually amazed that he hasn't developed stress fractures in his feet (even the good one!)

Your post is unwarranted IMO.

We do not want to even think about such things as you state...see ya at the 1st home game...

Pedo did his left hamstring (grade 1) and shouldn't play Friday. Hogan right low-back-buttock soreness, but continued on modified.

Good drills...learnt a bit today.

Lot of "v-leading" near the boundary. Lot of half and full ground running drills. They also share the ball, but not to the point of inefficiency. They look for the handball receiver on the move. The defenders are often asked to close down space as well. Stafford did a bit with the rucks for the whole time; boundary throw-ins, and contested stuff deep near forward 30.

Roos just in encouraging mode. Clapping effort...even after clangers.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
