He's very recently bought a 35mm Leica (an M3 I think) and has moved to old school silver halide film instead of digital.

As well he has expressed an interest in processing the film himself and also printing.

I can well understand how he may have less time for footy.

The photography does seem for the moment to be an all-abiding passion.

Lets see how things develop.

Medical opinion from known and also with the same injury Lisfranc...back twinges, hip twinges, hamstring, knee injuries. Not good. Retirement causing in my opinion. But he's only young and the club have to try to prove to Fans the investment was worth it. And it was. At the time. No one could predict that this was going to happen...

Lets hope all the delays and careful management gets him through and he can play 22 games in a row..

well if he doesnt play, perhaps he can upload pictures from training and improve demonland with them.

thats just a snapshot of what he could do.

As others have said, he has had a very serious, potentially career ending injury. The club is managing him conservatively to give him his best shot. He will return this season and this is when all the questions will be answered. This sort of injury will not reoccur in on the first week back, rather 3 - 8 weeks back. If he can stay on the field he is cured, if it reoccurs for a third time it is all over. Simply nothing more needs to said on this issue.

He's in the market apparently for a Contax 645 (medium format film - 2nd hand, only $3000-4000) and he is doing his own D&P.

Also he's offering limited-placement 3 hour tutorials for $300.

I'd rather he spent three hours in the gym earning a quid.

Champ, I find your comments offensive.

Clark is desperate to return, and is doing anything and everything he is asked. His only desire is to return to senior football. His photography hobby is good therapy through these difficult times.

The photography may have started out as a hobby but it has become much more than that. Selling prints, tutorials, a web-page (other than a Facebook Page), an escalating interest and investment in more and better equipment and so on. The Photography Bug can bite hard and I speak from experience.

Third time? Do you mean the Lisfranc? He's only had that happen once has he not? (3 question marks?)

What else is he meant to do he hasn't played for nearly 2 years life after footy to him is probably a lot closer than he thought it would be.

And I can speak from experience to say that despite it's bite, the photography bug does not interfere with my regular work. He is a talented photographer and why shouldn't he have a passion outside his football?

The fact that Mitch was running laps on Tuesday when there was no scheduled training (and that, no doubt, was not unusual for him) as well as the fact he is there training on scheduled days and no doubt doing plenty of gym work, I think tends to refute your ridiculous assertions.

Mitch will not be a "flash" in the pan.

He has a "roll" to play and we have been given a 'snapshot' of what he is capable of. and if it all 'clicks' we can 'develop' a decent forward line. He can 'expose' a weakness is an opposition backline.

So long as he doesn't 'Nikon' to the footy field prematurely and re-injure himself.

What about buddy and his clothes range? Nick riewoldt as well... What about the players studying courses at uni?

You mean they spend 70 hours a week at a footy club and that's not enough with various meetings, trainings and discussions? Pretty poor opinion that players can't have an interest outside of footy, be that photography or anything.

I'm all for players planning for life after football. But saying Mitch is planning to be out of football now is ridiculous. Haven't you read that he has been running the tan at a good pace. Me thinks he is training to be a footballer first

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
