I must admit that, I too, liked liking things without actually having to go to the trouble of posting that I liked or agreed with the things I liked, or agreed with - and having a like button also stopped the risk of ending a sentence with a preposition. And of writing long sentences. And of starting sentences with and.

As C&B said (and I quote) - bring it back.

I think , like, we cant, in all good conscience in this day and age impose our collective wills on a button. It needs to find its own sense of fit and how it can better server the greater humanity, i mean, like it should develop its own persona.... peace out :)

I think a Dislike button would cause more problems than the Like button did.

I reckon "Agree / Disagree / LoL " would work best.

So you can contribute to a debate by agreeing or disagreeing with a post, or tag with "LoL" for things that tickle your funny bone.

I agree that a "dislike" button may cause problems, but you can respectfully "disagree" with a point in an argument without "disliking" it or offending the poster.

I hope that made sense.

I am not sure I understand all this discussion just for a 'like' option. Its old hat, once farcebook had it, it was doomed.

Just prior to a certain coach getting the bullet, he investigated my KPIs on my likes.

Its seems my contested KPIs were down, my KPI to push forward regardless was on the up

And he insisted to ignore the scoreborad and spelling mistakes were acceptable. when the like option was removed he said he didnt see that coming.

Now seeing the like button isnt here, and its overused and outdated anyway ,and so far no outrages have occurred since its removal all roads suggest so far the culprit has been uncovered. of course I blame Jack watts, but Nasher knows best.

get used to not having a like button, its gone, a better method is under consideration for its replacement.

If you like a post this will be the way to go :)

PS ever since Roos has been at the helm. have yet to hear mention of anything KPI related. what a nice change that is.

We may not hear about them, but I'll bet they exist both for individual players and the team as a whole.

This is a post that I would have given a like too because I hate KPI's and all they stand or don't stand for.

I reckon we should have a 'Gold' button. Could be used to praise a genuinely funny post or a rip snorter of a reply or to comment on an unintentionally funny or hugely ironic post.

The only KPI I am interested in is the one after the final siren that says we scored more than the opposition!

As demon supporters few of us are familiar with that particular KPI.

bring it back

It will come back, but in terms of timeliness - with the number of evenings I've had to spend putting the site back together in recent weeks due to disasters, you'd be amazed at how low my care factor is for non-urgent issues at present. I will get there.

As much as I like the 'like' button I quite understand your priorities. Those of us who have too much time on our hands and are commenting from the cheap seats (just to re-ignite an unnecessary debate) should make the point that we appreciate everything you do to keep the site running. Hopefully, a few posters will read this and intuitively move their cursor to the 'like' button position and give a theoretical click.

Anyone else see the irony....... We couldn't like Nashers post lol

Yeah, he got peeved cause nobody was hitting the 'like button' on his posts. Further more whats all this about a care factor?

tell me we care, he luvs pulling it apart, the 'like' thingy was just an excuse to dismantle the code. It happens in the off season he gets bored and thinks we wont notice. So Array to Nasher, It keeps him off the streets.

Yep and we could have a " disregarded " button to show that we have bannished anybody elses right to their opion to oblivion.

Are you still recieving me dustbin ?

I'm going to be honest here. This site is significantly less fun without the like button. I'm ashamed to admit it, but I like the point-scoring it encourages. I wish all of life we like that. It would be nice.

chook chook chook

theres no place for reality or such here.

as Daryl would suggest..........the van for you :)

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
