The one and the same. One is a tanned, muscled, fully grown man found in most football clubs aspiring to be top eight. The other looks like a human pipe cleaner or walking frigging penis.

Rofl, very good. I'm going to appropriate those metaphors!

Good God...That really does sum up the last 7 years in one frame.....We recruited little babies...The others recruited men.

Josh Hunt lost all his 'men attributes' when he short armed a contest running back in the flight. He went out and got a full sleeve of ink done to try gain some toughness.

If you took off you rose-coloured glasses, and stopped clapping so loud, you might have heard the negative doomday forecasts about Cale.

I don't want to be seen as a Cale fan as I was quite happy when we delisted him as it was obvious he wasn't going to be good enough.

Not sure where I put on any "rose-coloured glasses" or "when I clapped so loud" but obviously in doing so I missed these so called "doomsday forecasts" about Cale during his first year.

If you could attach some links to articles written in 2008 about how awful Cale would be to enlighten me I would appreciate it.

. Picking Morton at 4 was absolutely fair and was not a bad decision by our recruiting panel. We can chalk this one down to Morton simply not being able to get weight on his body; whether that's his fault or ours, we may never know.

.....and had he been picked up by Essendrug, or WCE........who knows?

According to the AFL website he didn't even nominate for the draft. Does anybody know if he has thrown in the towel for good?

A number of times.

Cale Morton a Demon again!!!

I wish him all the best and hope that he's a star with the Demons for many years to come.

He deserves it.

I still remember the game in his first season where he had something like 24 possies and 3 goals and looked a class above against the Bombers and polled Brownlow votes in that game

we thought we had a star on our hands

How wrong we were

please -it's Xmas.

Cale is a special case who my be a very good average WAFL player one rare day

Maybe it is time to build a bridge and move on -- a huge disappointment and we will never know for certain if he would have done better with better coaching and a stronger club culture.

Valé.

Valé.

Precisely.

But who is this Vale guy?

Yeah it was round 18 2008.

He then backed they up with a 30 + possession game 2 weeks later against West Coast.

He impressed in 08 and 09.

A footballing tradegy that he's out of the game altogether.

How does a bloke with so much natural talent fall out of the game by 23.

It wasn't if he was a poor character.

Cale is a bit like Jordan Gysberts, they both have bags of talent but lack the dedication to actually stay at the top. I think that neither player worked hard enough on their frame in the gym. They both want to play football but do not want do to do the training.

Bennel upgraded, Morton delisted. I would've thought it'd end up the other way around.

Either way, we are better off without them on the list.

Diagree with all your points Stuie. 1. We chose this kid before Dangerfield and Rioli based on his Larke Medal effort. 2. He ran away from Lade, pure and simple, you can put any spin you want on it. 3. I watched the guy live for 5 years, he had the odd game where he ran & created space but fair dinkum , he never got involved enough or layed a tackle of any substance ever. None of that is made up champ, it is simply my opinion on what I observed. Anyway agree with most lets Move On. Brad Dalzeil anyone?

Agreed

Most disappointing pick ever in my mind.

If Watts doesn't improve he'll own that title.

I had a chat to him at an after match function once and I feel like he had unrealistic views on his position in the team which I believe is a massive reason why he never cracked it, because he believed he already had made it. All the best to him however, he is doing what all footballers ever want to do, to play football with his brothers in his hometown.

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

A couple of intrepid Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock for the midweek Preseason Training Session to bring you the following observations. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
