Correct... from Demonwiki:

"One of four players to debut in the opening round of the 2009 season, Jetta played the first five matches of the season and fifteen in total for the season impressing as a small forward."

Who is that written by?

He may have been named in the FP, but he played through the middle.

bad decision IMO, should have stuck with him.

One of the few decent football decisions we got right!

Magner far too slow for AFL and with limited Skills!

Who will forget the embarrassing attempt to kick a set shot from 25-30 meters out which failed to make the distance!?

Cards marked not long after!

Good VFL/Country footballer but nothing else!

I believe it is Supermercado who was (is?) a poster on these forums... I have no reason to doubt his information as no doubt like yourself, his info is likely based on observation, but unlike the rest of us, he has been dilligent and dedicated enough to document such information for all MFC players.

Yep, frequently hilarious. Most of the Taggert speculation comes from a combination of disappointment at past recruiting failures with pure irrational idealism. The idea that the MFC list builders would let someone go who could be 'a gun' if only he had the right chances/development/attitude correction/luck with injuries/opportunity, is just waffling nonsense.

I haven't read one 'he could be a gun' statement.

It's a football forum you goose. That's why people come here. To debate/discuss/analyse anything and everything to do with the MFC.

It's just as waffling that the MFC have recruited plenty of spuds as high draft picks who have gone on to do sfa. Morton and Gysberts namely. Two players who's lack of progress was nothing to do with the way we developed them..

Get off your high-horse you nonce. Taggert is an incredibly unlucky footballer, and you offer nothing other than drivel, banging on about how you thinkits laughable that supporters question the club's decisions. It's what forums are about.

Get over yourself.

I trust my own memory & understanding of the game more.

I know that many times over the years Jetta has been misdiagnosed as a small forward, but he was one I took particular interest in.

He's never been a small forward.

Well, others believe and have made observations that he has played as a small forward... toss a coin I say.

Do you ever go to the games, Jetta has rarely played in our Midfield the bloke was blown up after one effort he has never had the fitness base. Would have loved him to play in the midfield, I remember being at Visy Park one pre-season against Brisbane, he dominated in the middle. When Neeld came they tried to push him onto the Wing but he couldn't run out a quarter, he then had to push him forward again found out he was no good as a small forward then pushed him back found he could play there preferring to keep him over Bennell, Once again this year his couple of games down back has saved him from being delisted.

I wish he could have played in our midfield he is hard and quite good at stoppages, the fact is he hasn't been able due to fitness.

All good decisions. Well done, list management. I still count about 12 players on our senior list that I would hope are slowly surpassed over the next season or two.

I have attended nearly all home games in his time, and I watch all.

Jetta has played as a midfielder in the majority of games he has played.

If you don't realise that, I won't even bother continuing this conversation because you don't know what you're talking about.

You have no idea what you are talking about, if Jetta played in our Midfield on his numbers alone he should have been delisted after his first contract. The bloke averages 11.9 disposals per game, if he is a midfielder as you state, how the hell is he still on our list.

Feel better now 'stmj'? 'you goose, you nonce, high horse, get over yourself'. Why don't you try getting personal, it always seems to edify the discussion? ;)

In your own condescending way, you've been giving it to posters for expressing their view on the player at hand. I'm just bringing you down from that perch you seem so comfortable on. You've grossly exaggerated the view poster's have on Taggert by quoting 'he would have been a star'.

Well, haven't the last dozen or so posts been truly enlightening, and I am sure of intense interest to most who read this board......NOT!

How about if you want to bicker, send PMs to one another and stop cluttering this board with personal points scoring.

I don't remember one either, and I don't see anyone breaking down the barriers to protest the decision. Just a few of us that thought he had a bit of promise and were surprised he was delisted.

On another note, Cale Morton has just been delisted by the Eagles

A total waste of talent this guy and more importantly a waste of our draft pick.

Your lack of understanding on the concept of midfielders today in a pathetic side, is not my problem.

Speaking of listings/delistings, anyone know what the story is with Maia Westrupp?

Quick Google showed him recently being picked for a representative schoolboy volleyball side in NZ, so presumably back there. Done and dusted?

Well, he hasn't been removed from any list so based so that he's still with us.

He's not in school anymore so that article you read might be out of date?

I'm 110% confident that in his first 5 or so games and most there after in his debut year he played forward pocket/half forward with minimal time at all.

I remember him a couple of years later then starting on a wing but that didn't last long. I also remember him doing time tagging Cyril in the midfield one day.

This year he played back.

All in all I think most people realise that Jetta, with his tackling skills and decent ability in close is more of a midfield player than either end of the ground deep. Doesn't have the deadly speed you need as a small forward or small defender. Then again I don't see him as much of a half back with that lack of size and inability to take bigger opponents not to mention he doesn't get enough of the ball.

His best ever game was as a high half forward in a game at Darwin where he got 20 odd touches and 3 goals I believe.

Who knows, who cares really.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
