So pleased to see Wallis shafted.

I'll never forgive, or forget, him and Sheedy in 2000 GF.

Ed: changed topic title. :) Added " Good riddance".

There was one of those naked father/newborn baby photos of him on the Sun once.

Violently,vomitous viewing.

I attended a wedding reception a few years ago where Wallis was a guest.

My wife had to stop me making a scene (especially after I'd had a couple of drinks).

I can never forget the 2000 grand final: what a f#*^ing thug.

Good riddance.

But of course his accomplice is still at large and coaching the Tigers!!!!!

I don't understand all the venom for Wallis.......He did what a player should do in a grand final.....If it was one of our players doing it to an Ess player.....You would all be cheering

Lets be honest they beat us up that day and won......It's 13 years ago....

Time to get over it....

Smacking a kid in the throat is what our players should be doing on Grand Final Day???

No ...win is what you do at a grand final.

What Wallis did to Greeny was a low act, Grand Final or not.

Their sacking of Wallis is the only thing of value to the game that Essendon have done all year!

Still don't really know how to feel about that incident. Sure, all bets are off on GF day. Physically beating your opponent has proven to be a legitimate tactic to win.

But also, there has always been a line. Certain parts of the body you avoid...

That hit to the throat was a very cowardly and dangerous act. It could well have ruptured Green's windpipe causing suffocation.

If any player did it to another player it would be an act of outright aggression and if done in the street would lead to serious assault charges.

Dean Wallis was in my opinion a coward, and remember Brad was being held during that encounter by another Essendon hero.

Would I want a couple of seasoned Melbourne players to perform the same act on an 18/19 year old first year player from another club?

No!!!

If we need to win dirty ,win dirty i say.

Troy Simmonds and Brad Green were legit targets.

Would have liked to seen how long Wallis would have lasted if Grinter was still playing then.

Tapscott could model himself on Grinter across HBF.

Long Kick,good mark,good punch,straight lines .

and take out the garbage.

Gee I hope you weren't there when Big Carl was playing....Or Don Scott or Mad dog Muir....or many of the other thugs that ruled the VFL/AFL.....Duncan Wright???who knocked out Somerville in a semi final...

In defence of Wallis....I think he was going for the Jaw and miscalculated....but time to move on...those days are past...

If Wallis did the same playing in a Melbourne premiership side no one here would bat an eyelid.

Agree Tony. Some petty gripes here.

IMO any player that illegally takes out one of my team players are scum!

Over time I may forget but I will never forgive.

I simple don't understand why any MFC supporter will make excuses for such behaviour against their own team.

I am all for hard at the ball play etc but cowardly king hits and taking out of other players even if it done by a MFC is unforgivable.

A point can be hypocritical and correct at the same time.

Happy Birthday Nasher!

Your efforts with Demonland is very much appreciated.

Wallis and his little dog Richmond Coach apprentice will get their dose of Karma.

In that GF we had no-one to retaliate, that needs to be addressed................................legally, now!

We need another Grinter or Clarkson or someone to dish out some HARD stuff.........................legally of course. he he he!

Dean Waillis is a loser

but that scumbag soft [censored] Michael Long is much worse

His hit on Simmons was the biggest dog act I ever saw

Simmonds had the balls to put his head over the footy in the biggest game of the year, and he nearly got made a quadraplegic by Long the pathetic little maggot

Agreed! That incident is still vividly implanted on my memory. It was a gutless king hit.

Sheedy made it all happen.

The only risk to essendon in the 2000 GF was a few very young MFC players; Green was one.

Wallis had not played one game in the 1s that year (re-read that); Sheedy brought him in purely to take out Green and others. No other reason.

For mine, Sheedy and Wallis have been beneath contempt since that day.

(And pity the essendon player(s) who stood aside for Wallis.)

Sheedy = %^&* Wallis = ^&%$

Ed: incorrect assertion

Yes, they were far too good and would have won without the thuggery committed on Brad Green, which action can be fatal, and has been at other times off the field. Cowardly and unnecessary.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
