I wouldn't ask him about his perception of the club right now. I don't think he has a had a happy last season of footy.

Dont start... please

Thanks Joel!

Got to be a pretty decent footballer to play over 100 AFL games. You have our respect and gratitude.

Alistair Nicholson says "gidday".

if only he had the talent of the better half of our list and that better half had his hardness and courage.

Thanks Joel,

You had a crack and got your own ball.

Not the silkiest kick in the world like a lot of Demons past and present.

Good career.

Best Wishes.

Had many frustrating moments watching Joel, but I never questioned his courage and determination.

All the best for the future, good luck today.

Good luck Joel. I always admired your courage and the way you gave 100%. All the best with your future after footy. Thanks for your contribution.

Went out in style at Casey today. Kicked 2 goals and was named in the bests. All the best for the future J-Mac.

Glad to hear.

JoelMac was never the best player going around but I preferred him playing over other blokes because I knew he had an appetite for the contest.

I am sorry to see Joel go and was 100 % supportive of the decision to pick him as a rookie at the time, but it is interesting that Dylan Grimes was selected with the next pick by Richmond. Dylan, like his brother, was a lifelong Dees supporter and apparenty we would have selected him had Joel not become available. He now looks like becoming a 200 game key position backman and if nothing else, would have provided competition for Tom McDonald or a backup for Frawley should he leave. Love the idea of having the captains brother at the club as well.

Hindsight is always 20/20 but I hope we learn from the Grimes thing with the Jones'. Don't overspend but look at the value a brother can have because you know the bloodlines, the character, the work rate etc. After seeing Jack Grimes start his career their wouldn't be a club who didn't know that Dylan was going to be a courageous player with tremendous leadership. I suppose they all just didn't think he was any good!

And this is harsh but it's a big call to say he'll play 200 games, because like his big brother injuries are very prevalent in that family it seems. I'm hoping they both have free running into the next few years at least.

Oh and Joel Macdonald was an integral part of 2010 and to a lesser extent 2011. It's just typical of us that we stuffed up all our development so badly that if he was fit this year I believe Joel would've got at least 10 games. He's no worse than Dunn and a lot more honest of a trier.

Saw Joel Mac down the run today with the boys as flash came off. I was lucky to give him a high five and say thanks.

I know it's not much when you compare how flash was sent off, but I hoped it made him feel better. I always rated his hardness at the ball.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
