ive changed my mind on this issue

I hope 11 Essendon players get notices for 2 years ban and the bombers stick by hird to lkead them to the bottom of the ladder and every time they see his face, they will remember what he did to their club

What I dont understand about the whole crap about Essendon is that their objectives have been obvious from the start I.e. their intention has been to get an advantage by providing chemical inducements to their advantage. If this happened in 2012, medical advice is that the advantage would continue in terms of players' physical development for several years including the 2013 final series. How could they possibly claim 2013 is clean with them participating in the series.

To be frank they cant. Their season is finished -or at least it should be.

The best analogy I can see for Hird is that he is the Stuart O'Grady off the AFL - a brilliant public image, but fundamentally a cheat.

Such a pity for such an attractive personality to be seen to be so flawed.q

Oh really. Read what I wrote. It has not been canvassed in this way. It is about time we. Called it as it is...

Oh really... I might start a new thread then about my opinion of this thread then...

Don't need a new thread for every different opinion.

I'm not an expert in legalities : if they are stripped of points this year does that mean they lost games and if so would betting losses be refunded by TAB, Sportsbet etc. ?

Hopefully their computer program's will allow for monies to be returned seamlessly

I doubt it. I'd expect that if they were stripped of points then the results of the games would remain the same (i.e. Essendon won), but that they simply received 0 premiership points for their victories.

Essendon better make their minds quickly iif they want to plead guilty now and lose points for this season.. Their finals campagn is in tatters. After todays loss it clear the players have had enough. If they continue to dither they will lose the next seasons points. But I hope Hird's stubborness is resolute and drags this on so they end up suffering the real punishment next season.

Well I will be candid! This whole year of football nonsense is due to the football club called Essendon. They are the ones who have brought this on and should not be complaining about the wall of shyte coming their way. This football club and its arrogance need to be put back in their box. It is this football club that has brought our game into disrepute.

So to those at bummer land shut the [censored] up and take your medicine. The rest of the football world has had a gutful of your arrogance and blameless attitude to what is a problem totally ignited from within your own engine room.

They are attempting to protect their GOD, James Hird.

Looking at Bomberblitz (schadenfreude central) there seems to be a bit of weariness developing, even a desire for a bit of quiet euthanasia.

let them cop it in 2014 and beyond.

They are already dead meat this year.

A flogging in front of 80,000 in 4 weeks time will be a fitting send off to years of darkness.

Im very suspicious of the haste to lay charges and penalties against Messendon . This needs to go its course and be dealt with thoroughly and according to precedents etc.

All points penalties should apply in 2014. . Time penalties ought to serve once all avenues are dilligently investigated.

This rush to judgment stinks to high heaven. Smells of collusion.

No collusion here. There are now bitter divisions within the club as demonstrated by the ugly exit of Chairman Evans. Hird thought he could ride it out on the strength of his popularity with fans and players. Now he and his backers are playing out the legal threats. But a big mistake if he thought he could take on Vlad. The players are also now deserting him as I predicted after the removal of Evans. There are forces within the club that now realise it is not all about him. They want outs but lets hope they tear each other to pieces first. Edited by america de cali

Actually watching Hird complain about media speculation is a farce. Hey Sir James - stop the speculation and tell the bloody truth.

I would like to see some of these journalists ask Hird some hard questions. Bunch of bloody sycophants.

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
