Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>

Hird could launch contempt of court proceedings against Bombers

How long before Essendon just goes bang....in a puff of smoke.

Its really ( for mine ) just Hird wanting his last 2 mill ion 10 million , whatever out of that club he 'loves'.

Has there ever been a more contemptuous, hypocritical, self righteous, narcissistic , money grubbing piece of shlt to ever wear a foot ball jumper ??? Cant think of any to hand.

You are a piece of work James Hird, even under-rock dwelling snakes dont want a bar of you !! I'd prescribe that you rot in Hell but as that's OUR domain you can just exist as white noise buzzing in dark damp empty cave as even purgatory requires one to have had a soul !!

Tird will need the money to cover his legal bills. Also Tanya would be high maintenance I reckon.

A recent article in one of the papers suggests his other business interests are imploding and that his unpopularity won't see him in the media again.

James has crapped in his nest big time.

Seriously though, I think it's a prime example of someone being brought up in a fishbowl as the golden boy and the sense of entitlement that goes with it. He may well struggle in the big wide world outside the Essendon cocoon.

The sad thing is that not only has he trashed his own name he has also trashed that of his grandfather Alan, and EFC icon. The latter could be the only reason EFC have hung on to James this far.

Maybe he is rolling the dice to go after his nemesis Andy D. If he wins the appeal he can sue the hell out of the AFL and ASADA. Given he has spent millions he probably figures a few more $100K to appeal, is a small 'investment'. Yep, me thinks Andy is the one he wants!! Andy will have the last laugh!!

BTW, if you can't see articles at the HUN, just go to Foxsports. It's all one big happy Murdoch family.

Unbelievable. "Chairman Paul Little and chief executive Xavier Campbell have been told by senior players they want Hird to coach next year."

Who? How many? Robbo spinning crazily.

I do wonder how Hird will come out of this. If he has the psychopathology I suspect, he will be vengeful, unrepentant and ready for new, promising ventures. If not, he'll be a train wreck.

Yobbo, or more accurately the Hird camp he is so slavishly the mouthpiece for, still does not get it. Hows this from the above article:

'There is a growing concern among Essendon fans and influential money men at the club that the AFL has played a strong hand in recent weeks. The belief — one denied by Essendon — is that the AFL convinced Essendon not to appeal and then urged Essendon to convince Hird not to appeal. Effectively, they want Hird silenced, which Essendon has ensured for the past 12 months, which has distanced Hird from the fans.'
Yes Yobbo, its all part of an ongoing AFL conspiracy. The big bad AFL want Jamesey Wamsey to keep quiet and the EFC simply cannot make their own decisions. They will sack Hird but it will not be their fault, it will be the Politburo AFL. Oh and the EFC fans and influential money men are not happy. Poor sacrificial lamb.

Hahahah Jesus Christ they are insane. When during this process has Little listened to the AFL. All if a sudden he is taking his lead from the afl, not likely.

And if Little is taking his calls from the players then the players have too much pull. They need to be told what is happening not calling the shots here.

Looks like there is a big power struggle for hearts and minds going on at the club. Hird VS Essendon. On one hand we hear many fans are sick of Hird(including the ones I know). The players want Bomber to coach next season. That the money men are unhappy with Hird. From the Hird camp we hear the opposite. Hird seems to think he is the winner to take all or he is trying to pull of off a huge blackmail plot to extort a massive payout.

Its very cult like at Essendrug.

Robinson has shown himself to be the the worst journalist amonst a pack of bad journo's through out this drama. The bloke canot separte himself from his personal loyalties and beliefs and report accurtately and is a reasoned manner.

He is entertaining in that he is sooooo bad but not somewhere to obtain information from.

Hird should be cut loose this morning and hopefully Little and his cronies shortly after in a spill of the board.

Good riddance and hope I never hear from them in AFL circles again. The damage Hird has done to this game in astounding in such a short time. His playing record pales into insignificnace in comparison.

As much as people dislike the AFL, in my view the worst thing they have done was to be so soft on Essesndon. Hopefully ASADA ends up serving infractions to the admistrators including Hird and the board and Workcover pursues the responsible individuals and the club.

In saying they want hird they are also saying no to thompson the likely successor (again) to Hird, interesting to see how this finally ends...

Funny thing - they're carrying on as though it's the Dreyfuss affair all over - you could easily forget, in all of this, that the whole point of the legal action taken by Hird is to STOP the truth from coming out, to find some technicality to derail the investigation.

Mate I can't wait. It's a dead cert to happen.

I'm buying the blu-ray box set.

Lachie Hume as James Hird I assume? Slim him down and he'll be fine.

Les Hill=Sean Wellman.

I have been listening to SEN this afternoon and Robbo is on.

The Hird cheer squad is in full cry this afternoon.

I could not listen any longer even though there is only 5 minutes left.

I feel ill.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
