Get real guys.

At least he had the good grace not to slag off at the club or any of its personnel on departure.

I wish him well and hope he can piece his career together at his new club.

Of course Jack,,, no one would surely want to wish him harm, or to fail.

I have my doubts on him, & this for many footy players is the driver to succeed...

... but my comment is about the club, & IMO its vision to the future probably sees some weak links to fill, & needs to take some more quality this year.

good luck to cale, & I hope he finds whats required to succeed.

In all honestly I would enjoy seeing him play some good consistent football however he just doesn't have it in him. He's still built like a string bean and scared of a contest. He plays for East Perth who is my local team and I watch a lot of their games. I really don't know how he got selected

Cale who?

im with you

Care factor =0

I never rated Morton at Melbourne but I think he will go pretty well.

he should like the bigger arena & space you would think.

lets hope he goes well & holds his spot & brings them undone in September 2016 against Us.

they will be already starting to sort the list now, for the post season arrangements.

hit or Miss, maybe?

Unless he has a had a heart transplant I can't see him playing more than a few games....

Good luck to him. Unlike a certain Brisbane player I know, I'll be hoping Cale Morton can have a long and fruitful career.

I still think we'd be a better team with him than without him. He could always provide the run and spread that so few of our players seem to be able to do.

I'm in the camp that says he was burned by the club he got drafted to in the first place, not the other way around. Hope he succeeds (except when playing us).

its not a case of who burnt who. Pure and simple - He just wasn't up for it, hated a contest, built like a strong bean, no heart. Already have/had too many players that fit that description. Good luck to him

For all the Cale lovers Its round 16 west coast have been decimated by injury and he has just made it into their team. What does that say?

And BTW while we are at it Gysberts hasn't played a senior game yet either.

oh yeah we did the wrong thing.... sheesh...

It was bleedingly obvious when he was recruited that he'd be insurance for Hurn, as the long kicking driver out of the back half.

Hurn is down, as is a few others capable of filling that role.

Is Cale a long kicking driver out of half back?

I have him more for the Embley role - wide running, wingman, rebound receiver.

That's the role I see him playing for the Eagles.

Loose footy driving the ball forward with long kicks.

Maybe a bit of the Embley role too.

Must be for his electrifying pace and X-factor.

or the fact he is an impact player - lol

I think it's just because he doesn't take up much room on the bench so it's extra comfy for the other players.

Good luck to him. Something went wrong for him early in his career after a promising start. We will all wonder whether that was a club thing at Melbourne or there was a psychological lack of resilience and the confidence simply dropped so much he couldn't focus to perform.

I'll always feel a little twinge remembering all the wasted draft picks whenever I see the likes of Gysberts, Morton and Petterd running around, mostly in the 2s, at other clubs.

Well done West Coast.

Refused to draft Cale at #3 on the pretence of bad blood with Mr Morton. Draft Masten instead.

Waited patiently until he was on the trade table after inevitable mismanagement from the Dees.

Snared their man.

Bravo West Coast. Bravo.

*slow clap*
