Changes v Suns

I was very disappointed with the output and error making of Trengove, McDonald and Mckenzie. So 2 mids and a tall and a captain. If Grimes is on long term injury list the Magner for him, Sellar for Mac while he gets some confidence and learns to kick and Davey for Mckenzie and Fitzpatrick for Trengove as we need a tall mobile marking forward (not convinced that Dawes is ready yet)

IN: Jetta, Fitzy, Dawes, Blease, Toumpas (Be good for him to play against some similar aged players)

OUT: Grimes (inj), Spencer, Trengove, Kent, Nicholson

Swap Magner for Toumpas should Grimes go on the LTI.

IN: Jetta, Dawes, Magner (Pending elevation)

OUT: Grimes, McDonald, Nicholson

Jetta is really tough and was one of our best before suspension.

Dawes . . . well we've all been waiting almost six months for this.

Magner may or may not get a go if Grimes is put on the LTI. Let's hope he can keep up with the Joneses.

Grimes . . . poor Jack Grimes. B+F worthy form and he cops a ten week injury. Bad bad luck.

McDonald...not since the debut of the infamous Tom Gillies have we seen a defender play this poorly. What? That was just a month ago, you say? Well I'll be...

Nicholson...I had Bail originally, but he offers more than Nicholson does. Nicho's only advantage is his endurance, but Bail has that and a little bit more.

In: Jetta, Fitzpatrick, Jamar, Dawes

Out: Grimes, Spencer, Nicholson, ?

I want to see if we can't stretch the Suns' defence with two legitimate talls plus a resting ruck down there. Grimes is obvious with Jetta being an obvious replacement and Jamar isn't listed on the injuries, so if he's fit he comes back in for Spencer. It would be tempting to bring in Magner as well given we can LTI Grimes. Maybe drop Jordie for him if we want to go that way, although he would normally get the role on Ablett.

Woah woah, lets not go crazy.

Tommy Mac can at least defend, and has runs on the board. Please let us never compare him, or anyone who has ever played a good game in red & blue, to that weird bearded man whos existence at our club confuses and enrages me.

McDonald is having a stinker of a season, but he can play, and his kicking is passable, his confidence just seems to be well down.

Sorry but I thought spencer playing far better than jamar. Would not drop him.

I like Spence, but in no way could i say he's playing better than Jamar. Put it in persepective, Jamar averages the 3rd most hitouts in the AFL - today Warnock had 44 hitouts to Jake's 18.

Not like Spencer killed him around the ground, either. Give him another week though, if Jamar is feeling the slightest bit sore.

Not only was Spencer killed in the ruck, he was bullied around the ground. He's getting to be a big unit, but he couldn't stand up to the Carlton rucks. GC have a couple of huge rucks on their hands who will be more than happy to run through him at every opportunity. Jamar is a better option to stand up to that sort of physical attack.

In: Jetta, Dawes, Magner

Out: Nicho, Mckenzie, Grimes Lti,

Trenners if carrying something needs a rest not sure who to bring in Fitzy may be to tall for balance so do you go Blease or Taggert, Just not sure on Rory being ready

Originally typed TMac out for Pedersen at CHB but probably do Tom good to play this week

Out: spencer (never again), bail (can't kick), McDonald (see bail), Nicholson (see bail), grimes

In: Fitzpatrick, Dawes, Sellar, Jetta, Toumpas

Dawes is our best big forward available. Gawn our best Ruck and Fitzy our best back up man. Lets play them as such!

I like Jetta's toughness and his direct ball usage. Get him in.

It's way overdue to swap McDonald for Sellar. It's short term but worth it.

The last midfield spots are near on impossible. I don't actually want to play Toumpas but who else do we have? Do we stick with Mckenzie or Nicholson or neither?

Jetta Frawley Terlich

Dunn McD Garland

Tappy Viney M Jones

Howe Gawn Sylvia

Kent Dawes Byrnes

Spencer McKenzie N.Jones

Int: Strauss Evans Blease Magner JT

In: Jetta, Dawes, Magner (if JG on LTI)

Out: Nicholson, Bail

This is based on Col Garland and Tom McD being available. Both were hobbling by end of game.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
