Scully looking OK in the blaze orange today... his best is very good and he is running hard and really stretching the bombers atm. Is he inconsistent week to week? absolutely. I think he is still going to end up a very good player if not a superstar.

My bigger question..... would he be playing as well if he was at MFC... I don't doubt he'd be more inconsistent but would he develop to the same level.

The good thing is we can only suspect but can never really know...and that will get me through another dread filled week as a Dees supporter...one of a tribe of the toughest, stupidest, most loyal and stubborn creatures on the planet

Scully: over-hyped in the first half, gone missing in Q3. Give it a rest Demonland wrist-cutters, he's no loss.

For 1 mill a year you want a bloke who can step up when the team is going backwards. Tom = front runner/downhill skier.

He's going ok... I'll be happy if Trengove has a first half like that tomorrow. Is he worth the brass he's being paid? who knows probably not but he is no spud.

He was good in the first half and got 3 posessions in the 2nd half

Will get lambasted for this but the Scully bashing on this site is in part to make us feel better about Jack Trengove.

Sugarcoat it as much as possible, make any excuses under the sun, claim that the captaincy must guarantee that he will be become a player, but let's be honest, the 2nd pick was as much an error as pick 1. There have been slower players by foot, and slower players in the head, but in the same player? For one who was meant to be "elite"?

Why does anyone really give a flying fig about this spud anymore.

We off loaded this overarated judas and for mine have got the better of it.

We surely have more to concern ourselves about than another piece of media [censored] stirring.

We all know it was a semi mistake to have taken him but whats done is done and pick wise we recovered value quite well.

All this really shows is we gett very little right at Melbourne and hindsight shows he was but another cockup.

Hopefully now with the likes of Jason Taylor having a hand in future directions of drafting we wont be so inept. Even recent picks are yet to be proven beyond dount but look a lot more promising

Spud Scully is done and dusted, surely we can move on. Its like this forum , as is our club is perennially trapped in the tarpits, unable to move forward

spot on bb, but a bit of clay pigeon shooting is still a bit of fun

talking of Jason Taylor, whatever happened with the allegations of him getting into some dust-up on an AIS overseas trip?

Emma Q said he had nothing to worry about, so we put the torches and pitchforks away.

Maybe it's the devil's advocate in me, but I'd like to revisit T Sully in 2-3 yrs and see if he's not trying to be traded to the Toiges. He was supposed to be super keen to go there before we got the no1 pick thanks to Jordie McMahon. In 2-3yrs he'll have gotten the bulk of his $millions from GWS and perhaps be keen to play his prime years at Tigerland, as he originally wanted. Isn't his family big tiger fans, not that it means all that much?

Like he will swear lifelong loyalty to them too ????? :-))))))

yes i know. she said that very early in the piece but there was still some press after that

the club said they were looking into it but have never come out with a statement

oh well it does seem to have died out....best leave it there i suppose

Scully will be a very good player. I have no doubt about that.

However, unlike every other quality mid in the competition, I am very happy for him NOT to wear the red and the blue. Just don't like the look of the bloke.

The recruiting regrets I have are not selecting Zarahakis, Darling and Sloane - all seemingly obvious selections. No regrets about Scully though - the compensation we received has more than made up for his loss.

I know it's been done to death, but geez we've stuffed up a lot of first round draft picks. Quite incredible really.

Try and raise this in the 'Time to go Mark Neeld' thread....no, wait! Ron, you make too much sense!!

Agree + Hurley for mine

Stuffing up first round draft picks isn't the reason why our players don't work hard enough on the field.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
