Who thinks we can beat WC?

I'm sure that a team total of 110 tackles would set some kind of record. No team had more than 75 last weekend.

If we got to 55 we would be making a massive improvement.

How many did the swans have in the gf? You dont need to have football skills to tackle.

Dead set certs now that we've made changes at the top.

Not just for the win this week but the flag.

Will firm if more off field heads roll.

So glad they sacked Schwab.

Worst player in the team.

110, in one of the most incredible tackling displays you are ever likely to see. I'm not sure that Melbourne could match that number this weekend if it was the only thing they tried to do for the entire game.

Tackling IS a football skill. It's one of the hardest and most important skills. I'm sure that Sydney spend a lot of time working on this skill. Union and League teams put a great emphasis on it as well.

I am expecting an absolute Shallacking by the Weagles. In excess of 100 points.

I would dearly love to be proved wrong.

If the shallacking occurs and then we get thrashed by GWS the following week, Neeld just has to go.

If they lose the whole bench to injury in the first quarter, the sub hurts himself in the second, the umpiring is outrageously tilted in our favour and we play out of our skins we're a chance.

Typical- Kerr and Le Cras come back this week.

I'm tipping something worse than the port game but not as bad as the Essendon game - 113 point margin.

Neeld will have one last chance to get the boys up v's GWS.

Wonder if they would have played if West Coast were playing Colingwood or Geelong?

We will lose and hopefully by less than 6 goals but I'm not holding my breath, that's only 9 points a quarter difference and it's asking a fair bit.

They're already missing 7 or so Best 22, the midfield is mostly very young, Priddis is slow, Kerr (if he plays) is slow and old.

Cox isn't in great form, Le Cras (if he plays) would still have an ulna or radius which has not properly-knitted.

The Essendon Injury List was practically nil. This is a different ball-game. If the boys can summon a level of gumption from somewhere,

get a start for a change and keep things going they could be a rude and unusual chance.

despite our absolutely loathesome, pathetic performances thus far in season 2013, we're not actually quite as bad as people think.

It was our worst EVER loss at the MCG. We were that bad.

Kerr and Le Cras as ins this week obviously ain't great ...

I'd prefer those ins to natanui and wellingham!

Kerr is a champion and a warrior but is getting on. Lecras will probably do a hammy in the first 10 mins, he's so injury prone

No one's disputing we were that bad in THAT game.

That said, I don't think this is the worst Demons side I've ever seen. Could be wrong though - it's only round three and we're already negative 225 or so after two games.

Question, what is the largest loss a coach has ever had then gone and won a flag in future years? Clarko got flogged a few times from memory, but 148????

Er, Game 13? The Baby Bombers 1993 (Sheedy). If Neeldy can pull it off it won't even be a record.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
