Why did you come to a club that is over loaded with bone-lazy conceited overpaid softies?

For me, with all the talk about system/ accountability, why can we not even get a player loose from the kick out? It's comedy capers down there. Where is the run? When we played Port they'd spot up a bloke outside 50. We dream of that.

Sorry, there's a couple in there.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for taking your time away from our elite training to answer some questions.

Just wondering what you think about the beards?

(Oh, and can you take home a few of your personal items each day until Rnd. 4, just to get a head start?)

Why are most players unable to lead up and hit up targets on a regular basis and why are our disposal skills, both by hand and foot, some of the worst i've ever witnessed by any team after 2 pre seasons?

Why do we allow outside players to have so much space at the stoppage and run/spread, seemingly at will, from the stoppage?

Why is there seemingly no effective forward press after 2 pre seasons?

Why do we use what appears to be a "rigid" zone press at the oppositions kick outs when the AFL coaching standard is more commonly a "rolling" press pushing to the direction of the kick out and closing down space?

Why was Heppell (among a few others but mainly Heppell) alllowed to run riot during the first half on Saturday night and at no stage did it appear we tried to put a lock down on him?

Why was Gillies allowed to remain at full back on multiple opponents for 3 quarters (approx) and till the game was well and truly gone when it was clear he was being smashed at pretty much every contest?

Why didn't you say no to the camera fiasco and save our boys and the club the embarrassment of the 'behind the scenes' TV intrusion?

Who was the idiot that came up with that idea?

Is he still at the club?

If one train leaves the station travelling west at 30kmh at 6pm, and another leaves the station on a parallel track travelling west at 50kmh at 6.30pm, when will they meet?

Too funny!

1. Have you observed that our players do not man up/put pressure on the opposition, and when we are in possession nobody leads/makes space to move the ball up the ground?

2. Have you communicated to the group that this is possibly the most fundamental concept in the sport of football and should not even need to be mentioned?

3. After this communication, did you then observe that most individuals had apparently ignored your instructions?

4. Did you then have these players dragged, screamed at and dropped from the side for not complying with your instructions?

5. Does anyone in the coaching staff believe in points 1-4, or do you operate completely independently?

6. Have you observed that point 1 is just one issue of many where the team is seemingly unaware of the most basic concepts of the sport?

7. How in the name of God did you end up being our senior coach when you seriously seem to have inferior abilities to most junior and amateur coaches?

Why did you give Jamar 3 years?

Why did we recruit Dawes, Pederson and Gillies when it is our midfield that is easily the worst in the AFL?

Did we make a play for Caddy, Jacobs, Young, Stevens, Goddard or any midfielders aside from David Mackay last year?

Do you regret turning the whole club upside down in your first year as coach? In hindsight would you have been better off just gradually tweaking/emphasising defensive aspects, rather than turning everything on its head? It seems we did a few things well in 2010 in particular, and now we can't do anything well.

A lot of mocking on this thread but also some good discussion

I picked this post WJD as I think it highlights how we haven't gone anywhere since Neeld was appointed. My question and my real worry is - the club was in termoil when you (Neeld) was appointed - Why are we in exactly the same position now as when you were appointed?? Why is the playing group not committing to your coaching style?

What really worries me from all the speculation is that there seems to be a second time in 2 years this playing group seems to be rebelling against two seperate coaches... And it only takes 2 or 3 on-feild to not put in to get punnished at AFL level now.

Why did you make 2 inexperienced footballers captain and and p1ssing off Frawley,Rivers,Moloney in the process causing dissent in the team.

Why did you think replacing Moloney with Rodan and Martin with Pederson was a good idea-i'd take those 2 back in a heartbeat.

Why do you persist with a useless zone defence when our players don't buy it,we stand so far off our opponents that we can't even tackle them resulting in 54 and 35 tackles in 2 games, there is no pressure on the opposition ball carrier resulting in an avalanche of goals.

After your next 2 games of coaching, what are your plans for the rest of the year?

GWS will beat us,those kids are skilful enough to hit targets under no pressure and Cameron/Patton will kick 12

I would like to know from you Waltham and Watts jurrah Dunn why you think change wasn't needed or what changes should have been made?

Are you saying the club was in a good position at the end of 2011?

Do you think the free flowing game style with little to no defensive accountability would flourish in the ultra pressure (floods and presses) that now is AFL football??

Are the players to blame for their performances or should they be allowed to solely blame the administration? I don't see blokes like Sylvia, Jamar, Dunn standing up for the club right now - on or off field that is a real worry as these blokes should be leaders

Why stay at the club if they aren't happy? Dunn could have left at the end of 2012 if he was unhappy with 09 or the current coach? None of this [censored] makes sense

I am not saying the Administration who appoints and runs the FD are not to blame - but how is changing the Admin going to solve short term on feild issues??

Was the Bellraine League easier than AFL, or were the Ocean Grove players better than those at MFC, and more interested/motivated?

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
