GAMEDAY - ROUND 2

What

Recommended Posts

As disgusting and horrible as last week was, if we can somehow win tonight then i will forget round 1 completely and i bet the MFC does too and marches forward.

Lets face it, last week was only one match. Yes we have been crap for a long time Yes it was atrocious, degrading, embarassing. Almost soul destroying.

But the bottom line is that we can beat the Bomnbers and if we do it will be happy days again.

GO DEMONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

. . . I'll run naked down my street.

Can you name the Street so we can have a media contingent there? (just in case)

If we win tonight I'll be happy but pi55ed at the same time. I'm sick of us having our backs against the wall and the media on us all week to stand up. Can't we just put in week in week out?

The first 5 minutes will tell us a story, 'cfh'. As it often does. If we come out of the blocks, we've got a chance of making a game of it. Even if all that happened, the last quarter could also tell a tale. Fresh legs could win out if the extra weeks rest is a factor.

We've got an obligation to start well with a fierce attack on the ball. After last Sunday, anything less than that will be unacceptable. I'm reasonably confident we'll have a go early. We can't not turn up again.

The same street? That could be a bit weird.

Win or lose, I'll be getting drunk.

I'm going to be at a 50th, taping it to watch it at home. If we win I'll be stoked, but I just want desperate desire to chase and tackle and get the bloody ball.

But I want it every week, and I'll be happy once we achieve that, everything else is covering the cracks.

Time to shut up and act.

I'm sure the boys will have a crack but it seems to take a smashing and then a week of criticism for them to show a heartbeat. I just wish they could rock up to the ground, clock on and mean business every week. I think we will start strong and break even in the first quarter with a more skilled team and then fade away to lose by 5 goals.

If they win, I'll take heart from it. While it would be disappointing to know that the effort comes and goes, I'd take that over the idea that they're hopeless beyond redemption, which is how it seemed last week.

On the train heading to the G to sit with Bomber mate of 40 years .

We go every year (since 1975). There have been a few occasions of joy not many .

Darren Bennett made my afternoon once, so did G Lyon, in 1991 i remember a young Ox shooting for a late goal at Windy Hill that would have pinched it for us and I have enjoyed the last 3 times!

But I had butterflies last Saturday and tonight I feel nothing. Just looking fwd to seeing my mate.

Dees just go out there and have a red hot go but do it for 4 qtrs!!!

Clearly a sucker for punishment I am. So many better things to do tonight, yet here we are, heading to the footy.

This better be a vast improvement. I don't expect a win but FFS, some competitive spirit would be lovely.

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie
